Hamer_SS_guy Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I really liked Black Sabbath, but they really lost me with their reunion nonsense. I guess it's the fans who really love all the reunion stuff, in most cases want the original singers back. Professional music is also a business. That business lives of its consumers. You don't feel the business is right, don't support it.
RichRS6 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Well as much as I dislike Sharons management style if it wasn't for Her Ozzy would be dead by now (no question about that IMM), there would have been no Blizzard of Oz and the other ex members would never have made however many quid from all the reunions. So She's a bitch but She did save Ozzy's life and for that I can forgive Her (almost) anything.
cynic Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I really liked Black Sabbath, but they really lost me with their reunion nonsense.Agreed. This project had suck written all over it from the word go.
lincsman Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Bill ward has his own management (according to Planet Rock) and it sounds like they advised him poorly by going public.Well as much as I dislike Sharons management style if it wasn't for Her Ozzy would be dead by now (no question about that IMM), there would have been no Blizzard of Oz and the other ex members would never have made however many quid from all the reunions. So She's a bitch but She did save Ozzy's life and for that I can forgive Her (almost) anything.+1
Brooks Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 the original sabs is my fave band of all time.it sucks that they can't work out a 4 way split, esp since this might be the last go 'round.it honestly pains me to say this, but at this point in timei don't think bill or ozzy has what it takes to do a decent album and tour.i saw sabs 1st w/ dio then gillan when i was a kid,and i've seen every tour since the 3/4 reunion w/ mike bordin on drums in the 90's(that show, and the full reunion tour that followed it, sounded fantastic).last time thru on ozzfest 2005, bill's drumming was weak, no swing no power anymore, and ozzy's voice was friggin' shot; they detuned so far that the tunes sounded weird.it's over. unlike the recent surprising comeback of VH,they couldn't even pull off a decent album w/ dio and appice a few years ago(i know some of you will disagree, but "the devil you know" album was pretty weak imho).EDIT- the live vid from that "heaven & hell" tour was good (radio city music hall).black sabbath should just R.I.P.
Scottcrud Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I seen em with Mike Bordin and it was good, saw with Ward in 2005 as well, with Slayer and Judas Priest. I disagree with Brooks. The night I saw them in San Antonio, the band sounded great, Ozzy was the weak link, his voice cracked several times. Ward, Butler and Iommi were all TITS. In fact I might have had an out of body experiance during the extended solo on Black Sabbath and I was stone cold sober. I would absolutely go see them again if it were the original lineup.
