ghamerinfrance Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Hi to everyone,After having discovered Hamer (Artist Korina HB), I would like to exchange/trade a PRS Starla USA (Full Mahogany, Stop Tail mod and Custom Duncan 59) to any Hamer Artist / Studio version.Ideally with P90 but Seth Lover would be fine too...The neck is such a pleasure to me at least...I do live in France (near Paris)...but we can discuss of shipping if needed. Please let me know if you could be interested ?Wishing you a nice week, best regards to all
Hbom Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Howdy & Hi. Welcome. Nice guitar, I like those Starlas. they seem to play really well. But, since I only got my Studio day before yesterday, I'm not quite ready to trade.I did want to say that if you liked the Hamer you played because of the neck shape, please be sure to read this thread before you buy http://www.hamerfanc...ickness-trends/There are at least 3 different sizes out there and I wouldn't want you to be disapointed.Good luck in your search.
ghamerinfrance Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Thanks a lot for your information..I'll check in details. My Hamer yet number 1 and only is an Artist Korina HB 59 from 2006 or 07, I guess...so I really would like to balance it with either a P90 or a Seth Lover version, either Artist or Studio...I guess I have to be cautious with older models from the 90s.Anyway, thanks for head , nice day to you
AndyW Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Have you already checked the Hamers on PriceMinister.com? As it's a french Site, might be helpful to you .Saw there recently a Special and 25th Artist.
ghamerinfrance Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Thanks for the info, We use as well in France the site "au bon coin" but using google allows to search through all referenced contents...ebay included. Funny cause the 25th Artist and one artist custom is available for....2000 EUR (aroun 2500 USD). Is the guitar worth this price ? I would say an american hamer yes....but knowing you can find one for around 800/1000 USD, no one will sell it this price in France. People are funny...They want to buy cheap ...and sell expensive... Today, the studios are available for around 1500 USD, Artist for around 1800/2000 USD.. So, I prefer to look elsewhere or prefer to propose a trade. Those Hamer are for sale for about 6 months/1 year and it seems the sellers don't understand...keeping in mind the new value only. I am ready to sell my american PRS for around 900 EUR and then, I buy it from the US (even including the Customs, this is cheaper and at least, I do have an impression to deal with realistic people )
AndyW Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 We're you situated in France?Ile-de-France,I guess.Live in Berlin now,but I know the Situation in France And Italy very well. Thanks to living in Italy for ten years(Turin).Problem for you:Prices in France are ruled by Paris(the Rue Pierre Pigalle Mafia, you know?!).Lots of french muscians take the border to Piemont or Milan, cause Grades/buy/sell is more realistisch there. To my Knowledge,Merula/Bra(Provincia di Asti) is a good source. And that vintage store in Turin.Don't start with 900€ when trading in Italy. There's that Studio/Shop in Milan at Corso Georgio Washington too(forgotten the name).Try out.Or if you feel able to take Orly/Stand by flights, can tell you when there's something for you in Berlin( PRS are here higher valued, then any Hamer).Hope to helped you a bit, mpti.Shoo shoo
ghamerinfrance Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 I live in the north of Paris , yes. and you, in Berlin ? No problem to fly as I do work for an airline...and I lived in Berlin too....many years ago for looking at the "wall" still there. I left the french army (not as a volunteer) in August 89 (the wall came down in November)... ... I will maybe be in Berlin this week end too If you know someone interested in the Starla for that price.. This was a bigsby version modified in Stoptail (by a famous luthier, with the invoice, very good job) and Custom Duncan 59...with case and certificate, for sure. I let it go for 900 EUR...I am no businessman, I want to play guitar and change...up to know, I am almost sure to stay quite a long time with Hamer...believe me
AndyW Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Yeah, live in Berlin.Well this WE is to short in time. But I'll help you for the sale(work as Guitartech here).Think it might be easier for you to find your Hamer with a big wallet.(somerhing were you might help me:I'm a huge Kas Product Fan,Nancy,80's french dark wave.Whenever you stumble over goodies like Posters,Tee-Shirts,please let me know). There no Hamers yet for sale or trade in Berlin Guitar shops. But I'll let you know,if somerhing happens.Meanwhile,I'll check on my private contacts for your Starla. A bientot Andreas
ghamerinfrance Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 A propos Andreas bist du deutscher oder italiener ? But this is maybe easier to continue in english... I am afraid not to have understood what you are fan about ? Kas ? Do you mean Patricia Kaas ? Other 80s Group ? For the Starla (New Hamer), I am not in a hurry...I do not want to sell it at any price.....but I do not intend to sell it either for 2000 EUR (new value)... I do have this great Korina Artist I am happy about and this is really sufficient for a such a "non profi" musician I am Schones Wochenende in Berlin und vielleicht bis bald Gilles
AndyW Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Tres cher,Gilles.Well,I've both passports, one by birth,One by work.I'm West-Berlin born(Spandau/British Sector),therefor "Merci a le Gente de Quartier Napoleon pour votre Service/Protection.italian I became after 5 years working in Turin(Car-Business,amongst other brands,MVS Venturi,De la Chapelle). Sacre bleue,I ruin the nerves of anybody, explaining that french art and music is way much suprior to british and american art and music(saved for a few not household names)P.Kaas is a real nice, beautiful Lady. But I'm talking about Kas Product(Better, way much better than Eurythmics(D.Steward admited that openly!!!!!!but they had no manager/You Tube:Start with "Pussy x".We all know Les Rita Mitsouko And that's o.k.but there's in any Genre more in France. Great to know you got time, let me know an E-mail.Try to put you in contact with persons that are having Artist/Specials,as I know yet you can travel. Per oggi,ti auguro anche una buona fine settimana.A piu presto Andreas

specialk Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Wow, just reading (or actually, attempting to read) this thread has made me hungry for some pommes frites and schnitzel!Carry on, gents.
ghamerinfrance Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Grazie mille Andreas for such kind help... From my souvenirs, I am not so sure the help was so important in Berlin at the end of the 80s but sure was (and especially from our american colleagues as often) in the 50s and 60s. In Berlin, true neben Tegel and later in red Wedding for about a year almost every week end... In fact, you reached me something as I never heard about Kas Product and discovered it tonight....We are really in the 80s and this would have been perfect in the Berlin continuation of the 70s. Good comparison with Eurythmics and I guess you are right...this is quite typical for the french market... And even if flattering for the french culture, I am sure Europe received a lot from America, especially on the Rock business even if sometime this comes back to the US from England... Believe me , french rock music in the 60s is a nightmare And you are right, the end of the 70 and the beginning of the 80s were much more creative... I am sure there are some waves...bad thing today is maybe we got everywhere , more or less, the same wave and this is not my preferred music...and I still refer to the good old times, wherever it comes from, often from America, from Germany in other musics, France for the "chanson",...the world @specialk You are right Pommes and Schnitzel are great and if you come once in Berlin, try again "Curry Wurst" if this still exists...but I am almost sure.... @Andreas....Now, I know the music you are referring to and I will check if I can find some products...Tee Shirt, which size if any ? Speak to you soon
AndyW Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Salu Gilles,ca va?Please leave me a mailadress,as I like to put you in direct contact with the seller of the Artist(800€).Nice you Took a listen to Kas Product.Well Shirt would be grea(Size L).There doing two Gigs in France in Nov.(Marseille and think Rouen).Concert Promoter(Paris)don't Shells outside France. My fav.french Band of days is Phoenix(from Toulouse). If you don't know them yet(CD:Wolfgang Amedeus Phoenix).Great Songs. For the Starla, you've already tried to sell it in Paris?'Cause I think you get easily your 900€ and have the right amount for the Artist, plus some spare.A bientot Andreas
ghamerinfrance Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 BOnjour AndreasIn fact, this was not Berlin but Budapest this week end...so change last minute. You may contact me at gmihelcic1@free.frI heard about the KAS product concert..I will soon try to sell it directly in PAris...I used to try on different forums but I guess I will place the guitar directly in Pigalle.. This call be more efficient.Even if modified, it remains a USA PRS at a very good price...But the market is a bit crazy...I see some Hamer Artist Custom for 1000 USD as well and the guitar is so much more worth ...but this is the market. I let you know about the sale but I shall not be able to bring it to Pigalle before next week end, Have a nice day, Gilles

ghamerinfrance Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Grazie mille Andreas...Someone offered me a deal on a Hamer Special P90 on the forum and I am interested in the model as well...There is a price difference but I fully trust the Hamer quality, even on a P90 Special as far as the guitar is concerned...Wait and see...in fact, I have to wait before getting back my guitar (everything is closed in August...typical france...)I let you know but I am so happy to have discovered the brand...as PRS as well but the Quality / Price ratio as nothing to be compared..ciao ciao
