RichRS6 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Not affiliated to seller.Seller quite clear about the busted neck so it's no minter, shame there are not more pics but it has possibilities............... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251206578964&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Fk yeah but 700 quid this time of the year...
RichRS6 Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 I know Vic thats why I posted it here !Not sure what this should be up for price wise with the damage.Anyone want to guess what would the going UK rate be for an undamaged one ?
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I'd guess that anything around the 500 quid mark for starters. But, consider I just bought a 1988 Cali (all stock/original) in Ice Blue Metallic for £385 delivered on ebay UK (with original Hamer case) & it's seeming a tad expensive. I'd say 700 for one in great shape is pretty close to the mark though...
RichRS6 Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Sweet Cali.Thought it was priced a little high but hey what do I know.
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I could have had that Cali for £330 BUY IT NOW but hesitated & some dick put a bid in so I had to then outbid the dopey fkr...
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Fkin typical ! I really don't mind now I got it = it's worth every penny
diablo175 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Given how damned good my current Blitz is playing, I am half tempted to grab another. And 24 frets? Just about at the tipping point. Then I remember the exchange rate and the cost to ship and the fact that it has already had it's head broken. Nothing like a trans Atlantic shipping excursion to f*ck the head up again. <sigh> I'd love to have that as a project Blitz.
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I'd love to have it too as I love Explorer-shaped guitars but 700 is way outta my price league right now...
diablo175 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Agreed. 700 quid is 1130.00 USD. Way too f*cking pricey for that ax. Even in mint condition, I'd be hard pressed to pony up that kinda scratch.
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I'll email him & offer him the standard 350
diablo175 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I'll follow that up with a bid for 351...
diablo175 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 352 - Hey is this $ or £ ? I'm bloody well hoping it's $
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Fucking £s (like 1.6 of your wimpy $s)...
Jem Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I know Vic thats why I posted it here !Not sure what this should be up for price wise with the damage.Anyone want to guess what would the going UK rate be for an undamaged one ?Well when was the last time you saw a 6 in line headstock 24 fret Blitz with an OE floyd over here.................it wasn't yesterday that's for f'king sure !
RichRS6 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 I know, quite a rare one.I already got a couple of Floyd equipped guitars that don't get much use and I'm not a big Trem user anyway so at that money I'm out.
Ting Ho Dung Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Aren't good Blitzes going for around $700 right now in the US? One with a neck break seems like Tree-fitty to me or less. I've seen some listing them for more but they've been on e-bay for a year or more.
RichRS6 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Yes, I think you're right, the price is somewhat on the high side taking into account the damage. If I could get it for £350.00 I'd have it, Floyd or not.
cmatthes Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 My only question on that one...Are we sure that the "headstock crack" is a real headstock break and not just the stress cracks from the Floyd bolts that happens fairly often? No pics, so not sure.
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 RichRS6: You can't post a pic directly from your PC = it has to be hosted online then the uRL pasted here...
RichRS6 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Let me have your email if you want to see more pics. The seller sent me some more (seems like a nice guy) but I'm having trouble uploading them to the forum.Interestingly he thinks that Hamer prices will be rising due to them shutting up shop (well he would wouldn't he, if he's trying to sell one), if this is a common view there may be more popping up soon as people try to cash in their Hamer stock.Looks like a break to me but the crack mentioned runs down the back of the neck which is (to me) more worrying and makes the price even more unrealistic.
RichRS6 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Super quick Vic, you spotted my pathetic attempts to post the pics.I thought it was possible to post straight onto the forum, I'm sure I've done it before..........
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Haha I'll have some pics - send to vic AT concretesox DOT org Will check 'em tomorrow - off out now...
