Does Hamer Fan club have a clearly

Hi. I would just like to find out how I can know what the rules are for the Hamer Fan Club. Where are they written? I have had many threads deleted or moved and it would be helpful for me to know why. For example, I wrote a series of David Bowie posts which disappeared. No explanation was offered. I had at least two threads about Ben Fargen amps deleted or moved, without explanation.

What are the rules? Where is the code of behavior displayed? Thanks in advance for your help.

The 10 HFC Commandments

1. Thou shalt own a Hamer (or be planning to get one real soon)

2. Thou shalt choose a dealer and remain steadfast unto him.

3. Thou shalt post Hamer porn at every opportunity

4. After a week or so thou shalt post the porn again.

5. Thou shalt bump porn posts.

6. Thou shalt covet thy brother's Hamer, and offer him $350 for it.

7. Thou shalt not post photographs of one's hairy buttocks.

8. Thou shalt not cast the lesser guitars of other makers in a positive light, lest thou be banished to the nether regions (henceforth known as "The Outer Circle")

9. Thou shalt praise the wonders of the Hamer guitar, its designers, builders, sellers and players to the heavens.

10. Don't piss off the moderators.

Jonathan, I appreciate your sardonic humor. But seriously folks, I am perfectly willing to obey the rules at HFC. However, I must know what they are before I can obey them.

My humor was whimsical, not sardonic. And similarly, I assume that posts are moved or deleted at the whims of the moderators who have a loose idea of the direction they want the board to take, rather than some set of rigid guidelines.

I've got enough rigid structure in my life. Do we really need it in the HFC?

I don't know if there is an officail set of rules per se. Posts about non Hamer material might be moved to the Outer Circle. I think there may be a rule that doesn't allow posting material that is cryptic, fictionalized, or speculative and otherwise dark and mysterious

I don't believe what you are saying is true, Mike Lee. The rules of the forums are not printed when you register. Why would the moderators keep the rules here a private secret among them? Is there any moderator courageous enough to respond to my post?

I believe the unwritten rule is that stuff that doesn't pertain to Hamer guitars goes in the Outer Circle (ie heroin, David Bowie, you know like 90% of the stuff you post).

BobP, as I said before, the registration rules you have reprinted do not state why a post about Ben Fargen amps would be deleted or a series of posts on the music of David Bowie. Plus, the "unwritten rule" you talk about is flaunted daily at HFC. How many posts are accepted that have no Hamer content?

And this rule, which states that these posts will not be accepted:

"false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law."

This rule, which IS printed, is violated all the time against me. Consider the amount of hateful, personal abusive material that is posted against me here much of the time. Why is this rule not enforced?

Should not the mods be clear and consistent in their moderation? Why do they pick and choose, favoring some posters against others? Why are there not clear forum rules posted at the top of this forum, and enforced?

Would someone kindly reprint the horrifyingly personal, insulting, abusive remarks that were not only accepted, but congratulated by the HFC members in my "This Machine Kills Fascists" thread, which was moved?

I would like to present that as objective evidence. Why don't the moderators enforce the rules about personal abuse? Also, why are there not clear rules, not "unwritten ones," about what is and is not acceptable at the forums?

May I ask what your objective is here? Are you looking to see if you can stay within the guidelines or are you looking to stir up unrest?

Are you a supporter of the site, dropping 5 measly bucks so that you can visit the moved posts in the Outer Circle or do you feel that your content(that rarely has Hamer significance or content) should stay on the main page?

I hear what you are saying. I believe Ted introduced the OC with a post explaining that he wouldn't want the HFC to be thought of as a place that Hamer (as a company) would be ashamed of. The OC was created so things such as boobies, heroin, other brands would have a home on the HFC- but not risk offending Hamer. Maybe it should be stated in the rules but I think most people here know what the limits are and if they step over the line that's where the mods come in. I think that sometimes off topic stuff gets posted and remains on the main board because it is considered "safe" and might be of interest to the general HFC public.

Just about every board on the net has a similar setup. Try posting about your Norlin Les Paul in the Vintage section of the Lespaulforum and see what happens...

I also think that because most of your posts are off topic they get moved. Just my opinion and it does not reflect the mods.

That's a fair question, thank you. Yes, as I stated, I am trying to stay within the guidelines. In order to do that, the guidelines need to be clearly stated.

Also, I would like the guidelines to be enforced in my favor. If someone decides to post a horrifyingly abusive, insulting post about my sexuality, I would like the rules to be enforced.

Can someone please reprint the apalling comments made about me in the "This Machine Kills Fascists" thread? Why were these remarks tolerated at the HFC?

Actually, it's more than just my opinion. You asked about the rules, Bob P posted them. The rules request that you contact the moderators via email if you feel there has been a violation.
