Fake Standard Custom (GSTC) ?

Hi HFC members

I would like to buy a hamer standard usa model online

i'm looking at this one !

But i'm scared that i'll by accident or poor judgment are going to buy a kind of "fake" hamer usa

or a modified guitar in some way....

Do you have an opinion on how to spot a fake one ( If they exist )

And what do i need to be special Aware of before buying a hamer standard usa model

That is 100% definitely a legit USA Standard. I think it is currently for sale in Europe.

I'd be more concerned with somebody using pics of a legit instrument for a scam auction than running into a fake USA Hamer. Most of the things I've seen being passed off as USA Hamers are imports - sometimes they have fake logos (the fakes add the "USA" after the "HAMER" sometimes), but you can tell the difference from across the room usually.

If it doesn't have its' serial number pressed into the wood of the back of the headstock, run away!

That's a very nice example of a Hamer USA Standard Custom. It appears to be available from France for quite a while. For the price that has recently being published it's a real deal. Within the EU you would also save on import tax.

I noticed he has albums for other Hamers, too - Special P90 and Artist Custom.

Where's the sale listing (or are you keeping that one close to you chest?)

The Artist Custom was mine (sold now) and began its carrier with Conrad here....still in France, great style...my korina was just better.

The Special and the Artist are still mine (the Artist my first Hamer and so so gorgeous...for so many styles)

The Custom 59 will be visited next week, for further inspection, for you Frode if you are further interested (I will do my best).

I now trust the seller after discussion but some pictures will come, this is a real USA...to be further discovered.
