I don't know what they sell for, but aren't they just Asian-made "white wood" (like Bulldog Guitars) that are finished and assembled in California?

No. Billy sources his necks/bodies from two different companies, all CNC. They are fretted, nutted, finished and set up in S.F., CA. Whoever told you about "white wood" has their head firmly planted in the wrong information.

I really like Billy, I contacted him about an SG Jr-alike, and ended up getting him in touch with a UK Dealership with the right profile to get him some really good coverage, and them striking a deal which was cool and made me feel that I had done a good deed :D

This store is great and only about 30 mins from me. I had a good old play with the 2 pickup SG Special-alike, and it was bloody great.

Jeff who runs the place is very very selective about what he sells, and he's a fan.

RobB - good information to hear, as I've read a number of discussions that clearly state or imply that the wood is sourced and cut in China/Indonesia. So the raw wood is cut and CNC'ing all done in the USA? That would make a HUGE difference.

Billy has two vendors: one for bolt on necks/ bodies and one for set neck bodies/necks. U.S. Made, world played.

Billy was one of the guitarists for Jetboy, who had a cup of coffee on a major (part of the LA scene

along with GNR Faster Pussycat etc although I think they might have been from SF) couple clips below.

cool, but didn't quite have the guns (so to speak) to make it.

but, to to guitars, have been following billy's stuff for a while, I think his stuff looks good, good finishes,

good contours... a lot of people rave about MJT on TGP, which puzzles me cos I think he uses a cheap

vendor for bodies, incorrect contours etc... think RnR relics looks better. good to see that he's doing well.

Feel the Shake, that is Sammy Yaffa (Hanoi Rocks) on bass, Billy has the gretsch

Why can't I find a link for Bulldog? Looks like their web page has reverted to godaddy ownership?

I was considering a GFS clearance body for a stratish neck I have laying around(but don't want to build as a strat)...

Not sure where their website is - they still have an active eBay presence though.

Yep. African/South American mahogany, Indonesian rosewood. American alder and swamp ash. There are tons of shit-talkers out in cyberspace that, due to ignorance, malice, or both, say the stupidest things. "Price of doing business", as the saying goes.

Billy's guitars are killer replicas of American classics. They are lightweight, sport top-quality hardware and pickups and are finished beautifully. I've posted pics on the HFC of the YJM that he refinned for me. I'm considering doing an LP "Frampton" clone, with a few personal twists, i.e.: blended neck heel, belly cut and a pearl headstock inlay replica from an early-80s, Ibanez Artist. THAT'LL fukk with some heads!
