String Buzz Question

LucSulla

Question

Posted

The high E on my SuperPro frets out above the third or forth fret when I bend the string. I've checked the frets, the nut, and the relief in the neck, and everything seems square. It seems like I am having to raise the bridge awfully high to get the buzz to go away. I was curious what input you guys may have.

I feel like I am missing something obvious and really hate taking a guitar anywhere for a setup because I really should be able to handle it I feel by now.

A pro setup is a wonderful thing.

I got pretty good at it eventually, but never seemed to have the magic touch that my local wizard has.

Of course you'll probably get some better advice, but I say spend the money with someone you trust.

Thought of a truss rod adjustment?

It could be fretting out on one of the higher frets. Those can be tricky because you think it's actually from the one you are fretting or adjacent too.

It's pretty consistent from the 5th to 12th fret. Screams backbow, but that doesn't seem it, nor is it the 12th fret. I reckon I'm just going to get it set up.
