Need some advice on how to see serial no...

Hello

I recently picked up a Hamer Blitz metallic blue color. It's the one that someone posted on here on SF craigslist. I'm trying to see the serial number but it is not visible. If I look with a magnifying glass I can barely see what appears to be a 3 at the beginning so I'm guessing it a 1983. Anyway I've heard that the serial no can be seen with a black light. I don't have one of those. So you guys got any ideas on how to see the serial?

You can get a black light at any Spencer's Gifts...most decent malls have a store. 'Head' shops have black lights, too. So I've been told.

You can also just get a blacklight bulb for $2 at Target and plug it into any lamp.

Don't they often show up better in photographs than to the naked eye? I'd take a few hi-res shots and see what playing with the photos in the computer might reveal.

Yeah tried that. Brought them into photoshop and played with colors, contrast levels, etc.. but couldn't make it out. Im buying a black light today.

By the "Toga" picture, we all realize that you were told and put it to good use!

That picture is just there to signify my skills as a music critic...or lack of skills thereof. Also as a modifier/mangler of fine instruments.
