Sugartune Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 If I were to replace a stock bridge on my '05 studio custom, what would I be looking for as a replacement?Thinking Callaham and their three options are..- ABR-1 with vintage studs- ABR-1 w/Nashville Conversion studs- ABR-1 w/ with Metric studsI have been told to go with metrics, but I just want to be sure, as I thought there weren't too many US made guitars using metric parts. Thanks!
DaveL Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 one tip, be careful if choosing pre slotted bridges, definitely not a fit forevery guitar, on my les paul the strings were too close to edges... seemed to rob it of it's tone too...
Sugartune Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Appreciate that! I was thinking unslotted for those very reasons, that further validates it for me.Thanks!
Lockbody Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I take back what I said in your other thread. The bridge is imperial while the tailpiece uses metric studs:http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/58718-metric-or-imperial-thread-on-hamer-usa-tailpiece-studs/?hl=metricAnything that replaces a Nashville should work.
Sugartune Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Awesome! Thank you! Nashville it is!
murkat Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 - ABR-1 w/Nashville Conversion studs = this.
Uncle Thor's Hamer Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 My '04 Newport was a mix of metric and English studs. Can't remember which was which.
Ting Ho Dung Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 How do you pull the studs out? Sorry, I don't know what the measurements are either.
Question
Sugartune
If I were to replace a stock bridge on my '05 studio custom, what would I be looking for as a replacement?
Thinking Callaham and their three options are..
- ABR-1 with vintage studs
- ABR-1 w/Nashville Conversion studs
- ABR-1 w/ with Metric studs
I have been told to go with metrics, but I just want to be sure, as I thought there weren't too many US made guitars using metric parts.
Thanks!
