Now my NetFlix stars are all messed up. Do you guys have access to my NetFlix now too?

I have been continually disappointed in the quality of movies streaming on NetFlix. Every movie (nearly) averages 2.4 to 3 stars. Rarely will it go to 4 and never to 5. They say that's the best guess for me. I guess I'm overly critical or something. Suddenly all the movies have 4 and 5 stars!! I hated the new Nicholas Cage movie, Rage. What a POS. It had nearly 5 stars so I started it Sunday with the wife and got to 12 minutes before turning it off. So I got high yesterday afternoon and thought I'd get a laugh out of it if nothing else. Made it till there was 40 minutes left and had to turn it off.

So, has NetFlix decided they need to give all the movies an extra star to begin with. I imagine, like me, other's have seen the 2 star rank and not clicked to try a movie out to see if one would like it. Have any of you noticed the same?

Am I too concerned with stars?

I think it is a Netflix conspiracy, and also yes. You're too concerned with stars. But these Stars are cool in my books... (AKA, not a helpful response)..

What about these Starz? I didn't know they were still around. I had forgotten all about them. That was probably a good thing.

Wow! Two bands names Star(s/z) with songs about riots.

Odds are odd.

I was extremely excited to get Netflix about a year or so ago. My ultimate plan was to get Netflix for movies and then downgrade to basic cable. What a disappointment! We watched practically everything we'd ever want to see (wasn't much) of their catalog in the first month. Nothing new has been added and we really don't even pull up the app on the BlueRay player any more.

The daughter used it to watch The Office (her favorite).

I received an email in May of this year with an excited announcement: Now Available on NetFlix, "Gladiator!" Gladiator? Really?! Made fourteen years ago? That Gladiator? Another announcement in June was to let us know they were making available "Mission Impossible III." Well, that's a little better, having been released only eight years ago...

I do not have the time (or desire) to get hooked into some television series, but that really seems to be the emphasis. Maybe I'm just not their demographic / have subscribed to the wrong service.

I did subscribe to Amazon Prime for a trial month. I did that based on the massive catalog they made available. Once I signed up I discovered the majority of titles were available for a premium over and above the subscription.

ETA: found this on the net. Might be helpful!

I find Hulu Plus to be the streaming service we use the most. The shows are fairly current, and I like that I can watch Family Guy the next night, if I miss it on Sunday.

Movies? Meh. Most of them bore me. They're too predictable. I'd rather watch an old Hitchcock movie than anything churned out of Hollywood these days. There are exceptions, but for those I head off to the big screen theater.
