topekatj Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Crappy fotohttp://www.guitarcenter.com/HAMER-Used-Hamer-Eclipse-Red-Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar-110578735-i3973516.gcWas an import verion of this guitar produced? I was only interested enough to send an email inquiry RE: USA or not (no reply). I'd be curious to know the story should someone call the store....
carfish7 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 It's a 6-string - the pic is just really crappy. The 12 had a different bridge.
Carl.B Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 It's one of there better imports too, The pickups and hardware are ok but the neck is a nice full feeling very comfortable to play.
carfish7 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 At $200, that could be a very good pickup for those of the Cheap Bastige persuasion.
tomteriffic Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Although there were a very few Stop/Tuna USA's made, that bridge/tailpiece combination usually indicates an import. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that. I briefly had both a USA and an import model and did a fairly detailed comparo article. The conclusion was that the import was a pretty darn nice guitar but the different bridge, pickups, wood etc. made it a pretty significantly different guitar. This was particularly evident in that intangible "liveliness, zing, mojo, etc" department. But definitely a highly worthy contender in the Cheap Bastige category.
