kizanski Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 whats next? holographic pesos and a smoke compartment? Please!Don't give him any ideas!
KeyOfZ Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Man I love SuperPros..... I think that one should be called the SuperDuperPro.... PesoPro is more appropriate however....maybe when he sells it to me Nice job all around dudez.
elduave Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 Thought I'd add these. The whole cross grain vs. flame thing is interesting. On these pics you can see what I guess is the cross grain (same direction as the strings would be) very clearly, just as much as the flame. On the final product, it's not noticeable (which is good IMO).
BCR Greg Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Shoulda been done like this all along. Who is impressed by a guitar that cannot be serviced easily?
pesocaster Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I'm ruined......... ALL of my other guitars are sub-par now..... Have already killed the strings on this thing and have had an average of 3 hours of sleep a night since getting it..... NONE of the guitars I have EVER owned inspired me to play as much.....My wife also PERFECTLY discribed the color... "Moonlight on the water"Hamer knocked it WAY over the fence with this one!!!
pesocaster Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Shoulda been done like this all along. Who is impressed by a guitar that cannot be serviced easily? Thank GOD they put back access on this one.... With out it it would be almost as much fun as swaping a tone pot on an ES 355..... been there done that... charging extra if I have to go back there....

The ES-335 started a bad precedent on serviceability, and one that I wish had not proliferated to other models and brands. I had an ES-335 Studio, and because it had no f-holes, it had an access panel on the back. That's also how the Gibson Lucille is done. They should make'em all that way, regardless of any soundhole arrangement on the front.

On a 355 to change a tone pot you have to do this:Remove strings Remove lead pickupRemove the R/C blocks for the varitoneremove all knobs and nuts for ALL of the electroncs ... Pull the ENTIRE electronics harness through the lead pickup hole (VERY CAREFULLY)swap the pot... And that was the EASY part... Getting it back is a whole other can of worms.... For this reason alone I will not own a 355..... EVER!

Your observations to the delicate tasteful tones and angel like melody to this personal masterpiece are appreciated.... cork sniffers will mull over the tone formula used in this piece for YEARS...
