Hi,

I'm thinking of selling my Hamer Diablo I think it's a 1992 going by the serial

It's a natural finish with a Seymour Duncan JB and a Dimarzio neck pickup and it has just a volume knob.

Was looking for some advise as to how much it would be worth.

Cheers guys

These days its hard to say.

I can't even find any completed listings on eBay to give you confirmed information of what people have been willing to pay or willing to sell at.

It depends on condition, of course.

But a Diablo in good to great condition should probably go for anywhere between $550 & $850. $850 is getting ridiculous, probably need to get someone from overseas who can't find one any other way to go that high.

$600 would probably guarantee a quick sale.

But it's hard to say. It just depends on who wants to buy and how much they are willing to pay.

Post pictures here and post a price. If you don't even get any nibbles, you'll know you set the price too high. If you get best offers lower than your price, you'll know you are getting closer to the right price, and maybe patience will get you the price you want. Or it may mean you need to come down a little to get the sale.

Just to fill in the lower spectrum of Nathan's entry, I think of $600 as the top of the range, and not a quick sale price. Over $600 and I think you may lose 80+% of the market. Then again, I'm not paying as much attention these days.

Edited to add that the natural and amber ones are my favorite, so I'd personally pay toward the upper end for one of those as opposed to the green or red varieties.

I sold one for $800 + shipping to a guy in Ireland last month.

So it does happen, but you have to be in the right place at the right time.

I'm probably too high on my price range because I *really* like the Diablos and have a harder time separating their value from their market price.

The Diablo market is a buyer's market, I guess, and has been for years.

Last two at Guitar Center were/are listed at $500. One sold a few months ago and shortly after that replaced by another at the same sale price. Both listed with a case.

Do I HAVE to say it again?

Wow.

I didn't notice those.

Dang, the market is really soft right now. I was thinking about selling one of mine, but I guess I'll listen to my own advice and recognize I won't get anywhere near what it is worth to me.

Don't try to upload them directly. Load them on a photo hosting site like Photobucket and then link to them.
