I love;

gStrings is a great tuner

Poynt it does restaurants, white and yellow pages, movies, hotels, weather etc. all based on where you are at the moment

INRIX checks traffic for your drive home and to work. (great during bad weather)

ConvertPad is great for lots of conversions, miles to Km etc.

XE for converting money around the world

Show Box and Popcorn Time are for watching pirated movies, but ONLY get a copy off someone you know and trust, there are a million hacked ones online.

smartChord is pretty fun if you want to mess around with chords and variations.

Other apps that I use a lot include:

Spotify, Songza and SoundCloud, for streaming music.

PocketCast for finding/subscribing/listening to podcasts.

eBay & Reverb, for looking at gear that I shouldn't be buying.

Redditisfun, is a good app if you frequent Reddit.

Mint & my bank/credit card apps, for financial info.

Shipping items is a big part of my work, so I also frequently use the UPS, FedEx and USPS apps.

If you use AT&T Wireless, they offer a Visual Voice Mail app that I find helpful. I didn't buy my phone through AT&T, so that app wasn't pre-installed on the phone.

TapATalk was one that I had liked for reading forums, but I read that it creates security issues.

google maps or wayz for getting around

weatherbug for a decent weather forecast including a notification of lightning strikes in your area

I've found digiHUD (a GPS based speedomoter) to be nifty and useful

Uber's app is handy if you're in an area that's been uber-fied.

Photobucket can be handy for instant uploads to your bucket.

A flashlight app is handy. They use the LED flash of your camera as a surprisingly bright flashlight.
