Suggestions for Mesa Boogie Black Shadow MS-12 Speaker Equivalents?

I'm thinking about getting a current/modern day equivalent (more or less) of the old Eminence MS-12 150-watt speakers that Mesa Boogie once used under their 'Black Shadow' label, to use in an open-backed 1 x 12 speaker cabinet.  I don't want a Celestion C90 Black Shadow (too Celestion-y, IMO), or the old EV 200 watt speakers that were also under the 'Black Shadow' label (too sterile-sounding, IMO), but something that sounds and acts like an old MS-12...BESIDES an old MS-12.  Any suggestions?  TIA!   :)

Maybe contact either Eminence or Weber and "ask the experts?"

Definitely contact Eminence. I have heard they are really responsive, and can probably steer you towards a speaker they currently make that is close. Heck maybe they still make it under a different name, though something tells me MB would have made the design exclusive.

Echoplexing the peanut gallery. Who better to call to replace a ghost-built Eminence than the source?

Edited to add something to consider as a Plan B ... I recently bought a big lot of assorted 12-inch guitar speakers via local CL to keep one or two for me and turn the rest for a little profit. One of the batch was a mint clean Black Shadow MS-12. My plan was to pull the replacement 100-watt Celestion G12K-100 in my Boogie wide-body vertical 2x12 and put the MS-12 in its place. I've used Boogies for decades and always loved the MS-12s in my old iron-grate-faced M/B cabs.

The 100-watt Celestion won the shootout for my ears in both clean and gain tests at both low and high volumes. Bolder low end without being obvious about it, and it made the MS-12 sound overall tired and flat, if that makes sense.

The G12K-100 is now very nicely paired with a mid-80s Celestion 75-watter from that CL batch, that simply SLAYED the current production Celestion Vintage 30 that was stock to the 2x12 cab.
