Routing HSH to Universal

I'd like to open up a Strat's HSH route to universal/swimming pool.  I've seen jigs for that, but don't want to buy or make one.  Is there a problem with simply double-sided-taping some wood strips to function as bushing guides?

I'm not sure I'd pay for a swimming pool template. Make your own out of 1" x 2" wood boards (checked for straightness, of course) and use a pattern bit.

THat's a pretty simple task.

Time once again to bring out a picture my Daytona's unique (and weight-saving) beehive rout!

All you need is a drill press, a 1/4" bit, and a chisel (or somewhat sharp screwdriver).

Can you send me the algorithm that was used for determining optimum axes for drilling?

Or on what axis would the axes be angled?

Judging by the routing quality, particularly to the upper, forward of the bridge, I'd say "The axis of evil"

This weekend, I stripped the Strat body, busted out my router for the first time in, literally, ten household moves and discovered I didn't have a bit with a long enough cutting length. Ordered up a bit, today.  Maybe, next weekend.
