velorush Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Anyone get theirs yet? Mine have been in USPS hell for a week (no fault of CME). For starters, 11 November was a USPS holiday (in all sincerity, thank everyone for their service!), so you'd think the packages would go out on Saturday, but no. Tracking shows the first entry on Saturday being, "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item" and it stayed that way until they were accepted at the Post Office in Chicago at midnight on the 15th! They arrived at my local Post Office this morning at 8:20, so we'll see this afternoon whether that was early enough for delivery today.

Strap itself was a little more narrow than I'd imagined. It measures 1 7/8 inches vice the 2" listed in the description. The leather ends are sturdy enough, but the vinyl backing feels pretty flimsy. I never held an original Bobby Lee to compare this one too, but it doesn't feel like the same quality I remember from similar straps I used in the 70s/80s.

I got an email from CME Sales asking how I liked my strap, and the tracking still showed that it was being prepared for shipment. I sent a reply, and heard back on Tuesday that it was out for delivery that day, and that the Veterans Day mail holiday had backed them up a bit. Agree with Cynic - the strap is slightly narrower than the originals. I'll post a comparison to an original strap if anybody is interested, but the backing on the old straps keep things in place, and don't slip. These straps are @ 60" long at full extension, and the older ones are a little longer. I personally prefer my straps to be at least 65-66", sometimes longer. It's a decent strap, and they got the material pretty close (not sure it's "dead-on" yet). I'd have preferred to have a Couch strap with that material though - those are SO MUCH BETTER.

FTR, anyone wanting more length, buying directly from Souldier adds the option of adding an additional 8" for an additional $6.00. No option for additional girth.
