Caddie Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Are Schaller M6 mini tuners from a Hamer Studio drop in replacements for Sperzel locking tuners in a Mirage II? Thanks in advance gents Merry Christmas to all and to all good Cheers! Santa caddie
tbonesullivan Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 The sperzels probably have no screw on the bottom, correct? I don't think anything will drop into sperzel slots except for sperzels.
Bloozguy Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 The short answer is "no". If you can find a set of what Shaller calls "Original F-Series Locking Tuners" the tuner body will cover up the pin hole from the Sperzel tuner...and if you decide to put the Sperzels back on they will cover up the pin holes from the Schallers.
cmatthes Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 The good thing is that I believe they're both 10mm shafts, v. something like a "Vintage" tuner
DaveL Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I don't have a mirage however I did remove sperzels on a Gibson recently. The pin mount hole was under the body of the tuner, when I put the original kluson style back on, it covered the hole. The change to klusons looked better, but... definitely noticed a differing in tuning stability, I ended up putting the sperzels back.
