Two bits of wood bolted together.

Dear all,

Guitars (electric) are the joy that we fellas have found in our lives that warrant us to create and join forums like this. It is almost indescribable how we love playing guitar, no matter where we are and what language people around us speak, when we plug a guitar into an amp, all of a sudden we are all speaking the same language with smiles on our faces and nods of approval all round. So, when people play on our loves by selling (trying) two bits of wood bolted together for the price of a car in the hope that someone with more money than sense will buy it, is that market forces or should we try to implement a gentleman's code that says, hey, we are not morons and nor are we going to allow anyone on this forum, that perhaps is not as experienced as some, buy, for instance, a $2500 Cali, for $6500.

What say you?

We tried that with "$350!!!" starting back in 1996 when the HFC first started...that didn't work out so well!  :D

I have a soft spot in my heart (and head) for the Tree Fitty guitar, bass, and amp...occasionally,  I'm still able to snag something 'cheap and cheerful', though nowadays it seems to be closer to Fife Hunnert.

I was thinking, yes it was painful, people should only use the forum for advertising their guitars if the price is no more than the most expensive previous sale of the same model plus 5% if the sale is more than a year later that way the costs stay not only fair but reasonable.

I sold my $65,000 Audi to a couple of kids for $100 recently.

Didn't need a gentleman's code to do that.

I'm not so sure they got a bargain.
