DCWalters Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Hello all-I am new here, I bought a 1995 Standard today and thought I'd join! Back in the day I had a Steve Stevens model with a Kahler trem rather than the more common Floyd Rose trem. At any rate, Iwould love to have another one, the model was an SS1 in a magenta like color. Please if somebody out there knows where I can score one with a Kahler and color is not to much of an issue, please let me know.
cmatthes Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Those are really tough to find with Kahlers! I've only seen one or two in the last 8-10 years, but I'm sure there are a few floating around out there.Good luck in your search!
kizanski Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Oh no....not THIS guy!Run everyone! Your pawn shops are not safe!I kid. Welcome, Darren! It's good to see you finally joined.
Jerry L Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 There's 2 over on eBay, but both have Floyds. One is Fuchsia, the other is Black. Auction ends day on the black.
DCWalters Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks Jerry L, but I really want another one with a Kahler. And Kiz...if it weren't for my pawnshop escapades you would not have that '59 TV would you!!! You should be damn glad I hit them as often as I do!!! Seriously if the guys here are anything like the guys on the Robin forum it should be a blast! Pawn Ninja!
BCR Greg Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Oh, crap! Darren's here!!! Kiz hide the meatballs or Darren will eat them all like he did in Houston!

LordOfTheThighs Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 This really doesn't even need to be Photoshopped. Yiccccccck! Although, the sight of his tongue does seem to excite me.

Jimbilly Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I've got a ProtoII I've been thinking of re-listing fs. It's an '84, w/ a Kahler, the switches are the same (as far as I can tell) as my '87 SS1, the pickups are just in slightly different places. It's probably the closest thing you'll find to a Kahlered SS. Last time I listed it, I thought it had a neck or fret issue, -it turns out I just needed to get a little better at setups! It's in players condition, lots of little cosmetic issues, but a solid player. $600 + ship w/ ok fitting non-hamer hard case, and I got no trem arm (I understand it's a readily available arm). email me if you're interested, jimchristensen at yahoo.com where's those pics.... sorry for the bad headstock pic
DCWalters Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 I appreciate it but I really have my heart set on the SS1 with a Kahler. I know I am in for a long journey but I have gone 15 years without it I guess a few more won't kill me! It is a nice guitar either way..
