tusntuk2 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Hello Hamer Fan Club! I'm new, well, I'm old, but new to the fanclub. I am trying to learn if there is any interest here for a 1991 Sunburst in excellent condition. No, not mint, it has been a faithful player, but it's very, very good, and it's unique. It's a quilted maple, salmon color, bound and crowned, with a slim taper neck (not the rounder '59). It plays incredibly tight. What about it you guys? Any takers? What's it really worth to you? Thanks! Jim Here it is, I figured out the picture thing! More pics available.
atquinn Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 If you have absolutely no idea what it's worth, the best way to find out would be to put it up on eBay in a 7-day auction with a ridiculously high reserve price (like, say $2000). We can tell you anything, but what it's worth it what people are willing to pay.
discountsounds Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Again...$350.00 I'll up the bidding to $351...
cmatthes Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Jim:Prices on both this and your Special FM have been fairly consistent in the last few years as far as selling ranges, but a lot really depends on the actual guitar. If you have any pictures on hand, that would help too. Both of those are quality guitars. Special FMs range from the upper $500s (getting harder to find THOSE deals!) to @ $800. Top, finish, condition and neck seem to influence pricing. The Salmon Trans on the '91 Sunburst is a very cool color, and was only available for a few years in the 90s as a stock finish. Like others here, I am a big fan of the early 90s Sunbursts/Studio Custom models. Again, a picture is well worth taking, but the range on those seems to be $600 on the low, low side to @ $1,000 on the higher end. Particularly nice tops, unique features and Floyds tend to edge them into the over $1,000 mark.Good luck and welcome!
