Californian Elite FS

I'm buying pickups for the Strat, so I guess I'm keeping it, and that means this has to go:

1990 Californian Elite in what best could be called "player's" condition. If you're looking for a minty example, this ain't it, stop reading now.

This is the Cali for you if you're looking for a low cost entry into Californians or a backup stage/recording one.

Con (dition)s:

Body has dings, doinks, oops, ouches, checking, etc. However, from a few feet away, you cannot really tell (see first pic). Back has some worming in addition to everything above. Schaller branded trem plate with hardened inserts. Dimarzio Breed in the bridge (think hot PAF) and a SD Hotrails in the neck.

Previous owner really must have loved the key of F# or B as the finish has worn off the neck in that spot. There are also two "hanger" spots that have worn through the finish. Hamer must have really used a thin finish on these necks as none of my other guitars have this. Ebony has no cracks. Fret show some wear in the cowboy chord area but have plenty of life left in them. No buzzing or fret-outs anywhere on the neck. Others are in excellent shape (see pic). Neck is definitely on the small side of medium. Not paper thin like a Ibeenhad Wizard neck.

I don't have the rear straplock. I got that leather thingy. sorry.

Pros (this is the simple part):

Light (I'll weigh it when I get home, but the word "featherweight" comes to mind.)

Great sounding

Great playing

Minty guitars tend to stay minty because they don't get played much. It was obvious the former owner played it tons, and I sure did play the hell out of it. I'll miss it and regret selling it to be sure.

$550 shipped (I'll even throw in the original used and abused PA trembucker to see if you like it before ordering another one.

Say it ain't so ! $550 isn't an exorbitant amount; for that amount you might be better off keeping it in the closet for a year or two just in case...
