I got these a long time ago at the factory, I believe they were extras once the number of guitars to be built was met. Probably not a lot of demand for these out there, but figured this would be the place to find useful homes for them. They are basically NOS. They are different sizes on the outside. One measure 17 3/4"X53X 4 1/4"", the other is slightly larger at 19"X54X 4 1/2". $50.00 each and actual shipping. I'd hate to just chuck them, as they are in perfect condition and deserve useful homes. If nothing else, a cool collector's item from days gone by! 🙂

It has been asked if these will fit Standards/Explorers. They will not. These fit the Futura shape, along the lines of the 80s Dean mini Explorer shape. It's hard to get a good picture of the interior, but that's what they are. Hope that clears things up a bit. 🙂

They’re not from the Nielsen run, because those were all black & white checkerboard, but they may have had to order a few from TKL as a minimum order later on.  I recall somebody ordering an indigo Mahogany one in the mid-2000s, so it may be leftover stock from that era?

Not sure. I guess I never even looked inside. I was told they were bass cases. I'm doing some remodeling, and had to move these from where I had them tucked away. When I opened them, I had to do a double-take, as they are soooooo not bass cases! 😉
