Timmy V1 / Timmy V3 / OD11 (Naked)

My final thoughts after spending more time than I would like to admit with these pedals.

Tiimmy V1 / OD11 : If you have a Timmy and feel that its too bright or has too much presence then the OD11 would be a better choice for you. The Timmy in the middle setting is a brighter, clearer and will cut better than the OD11. The Timmy in the Up position compared to the OD11 is pretty damn close with the execption of the Timmy have just a touch more clarity and articulation. IMHO I think its all in the build quality of the pedals.

Timmy V3: My only complaint is that Paul didn't keep the switch external. The pedal is clear, even with the gain turned up, it really does sound natural like its part of the amp. I do like that  Paul made it more user friendly without the reverse taper pots, I think this will make it easier for a wider variety of player they may have rejected the V1/V2 because they didn't get the way the pots work.

Overall if you have a Timmy and you play it mostly in the up position and you want a back up the OD11 is a perfect low budget (For now) option. If your looking for the real thing, and want to spend the extra $75 then go all in on the Timmy V3 I think it is a fantastic pedal.

Closing: I found the OD11 by accident at a local shop sitting on a used shelf and plugging it into a Silverface Princeton blew my mind. I will always have a soft spot for the OD11, and it has its place in a market that Timmys are climbing in price that the average guy cannot or doesn't want to pay. But if you can afford the real thing, I would support Paul, and the amazing pedal that he designed and buy the real thing. I hope Paul brings the Tim Back. A streamlined version without the loop, updated to V3 specs. Having a Timmy with an excellent boost built in, I would pony up for a new one.

Because I am who I am, I've tried to find something else to beat out the Timmy. Sad to report that I have not found anything that touches the feel and tone of the Timmy. I love to use an amp that is clipping (non master preferred) and then just use the Timmy like adding special sauce to the tone.

Working on a special reveal for today.

I am not sure why he does not bring back the Tim. It is one of my favorites.

I hear you, I do however recall liking the Timmy more than the Tim. I had them both at the same time, but I would like him to bring it back.

"Timothy. Timothy. Whatever happened to Timothy?"

Played my OD11 at church today…and my Timmy arrived yesterday. I must agree with Bubs, the Timmy has a little something the OD11 does not and I LOVE the OD11 above all od pedals. Or at least I did.
