I need to clean the volume pots on my bass. What is the recommended solution I should purchase for the little project?

Caig DeoxIT seems to be the stuff that pops up most often in a Google search, but there are apparently alternatives to that:

+1 on DeOxit. I've used it for years. Good stuff.

I use DeoxIT F5 fader cleaner and lube for pots and DeoxIT D5 contact cleaner for switches and jacks.

You definitely want the cleaner WITH The lube in it. Just cleaner will usually take out the lube on the shaft, which causes issues. Also it leaves some protection on the carbon contact and wiper against future oxidation.

Maybe too late, but use this stuff sparingly.  I worked as a microphone technician and a bunch of people use this stuff like oxygen.  The buildup was pretty gross, and often had a negative effect on the operation of the parts.

I was at a gig and only had access to WD-40. Worked, but Deoxit is the right stuff.
