HamerCustomEr Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 No affliation. The owner claims that this beautiful Tally is from 2013, but the serial number is clearly 8 56330, indicating a 2008 production. Note the left-handed truss rod cover on the right-handed instrument. This supports the OP's theory that the instrument was produced in 2013: "This is one of the last Hamer guitars made in the New Hartford, CT factory completed by Darren Wallace. So much so that there were only Lefty Truss Rod Covers left and it is sporting the last of the Art Deco Grover tuners." This does not seem to make sense, since as far as I know, the last Hamer serial number was 4 56449 in 2014, meaning that 119 instruments would have been produced after this instrument was made. https://reverb.com/ca/item/68513332-hamer-usa-talladega-2013-amber-sunburst-mint-condition

It seems to me that this Tally must have been made in 2008, right before the acquisition. Since we know that the last Hamer serial number was 4 56449 in 2014, I guess that this means that less than 149 instruments were produced between the Fender acquisition in 2008 and 2014? What a shame! https://reverb.com/ca/item/68513332-hamer-usa-talladega-2013-amber-sunburst-mint-condition Interesting question!
Travis Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Good price. Too bad it’s been circumcised. You know…. missing the tip… thank you. I’ll be here all night.
LucSulla Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I'll hope he discovers out little fan club. I've allocated some funds to buy a Tally, but there is a scenario here where I spend less and he makes more.
Ralph Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 I would want a nicer top for that price. But it's a great guitar none the less.

Personally, I like the fact that it is a little understated, plus like so many other Hamers, I bet it looks even better in person.
cmatthes Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 Some seller BS there. That guitar was made later in 2008, MONTHS after the FMIC takeover. They wouldn’t send a guitar out with the wrong truss rod cover - it would get a blank one before they did that. Somebody is stretching the truth a bit here…
HamerCustomEr Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 The guitar is in mint condition, as advertised, and it sounds great. Here is my NGD thread:
