(I apologize in advance if this is distracting from the OP, happy to delete and post separately, thanks)

Speaking of Floyd trems and Gibson style;

Was the Hamer Chapparal the only US factory guitar model that was 24 3/4” & Floyded?

Not custom orders etc, but “short scale shredders” made by Hamer or others?

The "Gibson WRC series" were short scale also Charvel Fusion, Kramer Nightswan, Jackson Soloist Archtop

Yeah, maybe he'll chime in~ 😃

The Floyd Pro is a little closer in string spacing- .004" but has a much bigger footprint than a OFR or Schaller. I'm afraid I'm not much more help.

Hey, it's more info than we had.

Side note:  Did you see Schaller's new Lockmeister with custom radius for the bridge and nut?

That's 1/10th of a millimeter 🤣

the spacing between string saddles (I'm assuming) is 1/10 of a mm. Why is that funny?

1/10th of a millimeter is the thickness of paper 🤣

Yeah? And have you looked at the spacing between the saddles? You can barely get a sheet of paper between them so this comes as no surprise. I'll cop to the fact that we're talking ridiculous small degrees of variation between that and the "normal" spacing of .0042 but you asked and that's what I dug up.

Thank you for chiming in and I'm very sorry I thought something was funny... it was just a light hearted response... you were very helpful, I'll look into it

All good. I was just confused about the mirth derived but am glad you found humor in it.

The regular Floyd has as string spacing of .42" and the Pro has a string spacing of .400"... as opposed to .004"

That's what I thought was humorous...

It's all good👍

Thanks again, Dave

Dude, I did some caliper measuring and the "Pro" is exactly what I need... now I just have to locate one as they've been discontinued?.. you definitely know what you're talking about🤘

Or... you could get one in the 1000 Series. (Korean made) Not as precise and responsive as the German-made ones but depending on what you do with your trem, it may be sufficient.

Hey Jim, I asked this seller regarding the spacing and he didn't know nor didn't know where it was made...

Isn't the 1000 series regularly spacing?

1000 Series Pro is same spacing as the Original. My bad.

It's confusing with all the contradicting descriptions... this one says tha it will not fit existing original "non-recessed" routeMJbiDBj.jpeg

I had one on an Ibby Iceman project I did years and years ago. For the added cost I didn't really detect and significant improvement in function. I think a lot of it's appeal was the more comfy palm rest area as the mini-tuners were moved out of the way.

Is there any kind of an audible difference when you have the Gibson Fender mismatch between strings and pick up poles?

Tone junkies and folks with far better hearing and sensitivity to tone have said there is a difference and I've bought into it to a degree (I mean, it all kinda makes sense from a physics standpoint) That said, if I'm honest, if you put me in an isolation booth, piped in the 2 pickups with different pole spacings, I likely wouldn't hear the difference.
