atquinn Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 (More pictures at http://smg.photobuck...tudio%20Custom/ ) I need to stop buying these! Anyway, this is in excellent condition with barely any fretwear. Color is listed in the bridge pickup cavity as Aztec Gold and it has an ebony freboard. It came to me with Phat Cats in the neck and bridge, but right now it has a Phat Cat in the neck and a chrome Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge. Great playing and sounding guitar, but when it comes to TOM Studio Customs, it appears that nothing can beat my blue one. As you can see in the picture, it has a chrome toggle tip. The toggle end was chopped off to make it an exact fit. Also, the toggle was a bit jumpy. It didn't seem to want to "stay in place" to the degree that my other Studios do (it's easier to knock it to the middle with a stray hit). I'm not a flailer, so it worked fine for me. But I replaced it with a new one. The new toggle is an exact fit for the chrome tip, no chopping necessary. However, it will not fit the original Hamer black switch tip; it's not long enough. I'm looking for $1200 PayPal'd and shipped and I might be interested in trading for the right Studio Custom GT (read full binding, including headstock). Thanks for looking. - Austin
coolfeel Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 That one has a sick top...best wishes with the sale!

atquinn Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 a Phat Cat in the neck and a chrome Duncan Custom Custom in the bridgeThat's gotta be a fantastic combo.Indeed! I once asked on the Duncan forum what the closest humbucker to a Duncan Custom P90 would be and someone suggested the CC. It has that whole P90-esque obnoxious midrange thing going on. Much like the BBQ that Brooks likes to use in bridge along with a Phat Cat neck.-Austin
LordOfTheThighs Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Awesome looking guitar.Wish I had the $$$. Bump

I have CCs in my jam band guitars (Mirage, SuperPro) and BBQs in my hard rock guitars (PRS CE22, Highway One Strat). Obnoxious midrange is a good thing onstage.Good luck with the sale. If not for my ridiculous aversion to the Gibson scale I'd go outside my equally ridiculous self-imposed $1K budget for this one.
atquinn Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 I neglected to mention the Tonepros bridge and tailpiece and the locking tuners... Trades? -Austin
