crunchee Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 No affiliation. Neck is broken just above the body joint. I don't see any damage to the case, details are skimpy and there's no side/angle photos of the neck joint and fingerboard area, unfortunately. Nice top and color, though. http://cgi.ebay.com/91-HAMER-Sunburst-Arch...=item19c2b867f4
a.bandini Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 That is quite a break in the neck, going perpendicular to the grain and that close to the joint. Ouch. I'm trying to imagine how it happened. I'll defer to those 10,000 of you who know more about this than me, but it looks like it was done deliberately, like someone put it between two chairs and jumped on it, someone like an angry girlfriend. The pictures don't show the boot print on the neck pickup...
tbonesullivan Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 hmm.. looks like it split along the grain to me. Question is how messed up the rest of the neck joint is. You can see the pickup ring has been squished by the end of the fretboard. I don't see it going above $500 with that kind of damage. If I was interested I'd get it, and drive it right over to BCR and see if Greg can resurrect it.However, right now I'm being tempted by Ibanez prestige clearance sales.
murkat Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 split apart from the tenon bottom area.... not good.Looking at the neck pickup, looks like the neck is broke off and just being held by the pocket.Tough call. Maybe Greg can order a replacement neck, or.......
geoff_hartwell Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I have had that exact damage done to a Duotone by a bad car accident. It can be fixed. Geoff

a.bandini Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 OK, now I see the grain line and how the split goes. It still makes me cringe. I'll look more carefully next time...
