  1. I thought they changed the name around '91 - 2. No?
  2. PSA: No affiliation The guy says '95 sunburst original hang tag and sales receipt. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-Hamer-USA-Sunburst-ArchTop-Electric-Guitar-1995-Original-/390552427422?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123
  3. Janis Joplin is the only female singer I've ever listened to I think. I can't think of another off the top of my head.
  4. Kind of like The Victim pulling down a chick's tube top at the Roux House with absolute impunity. We had a baboon at Cypress Gardens that used to do that. Ahhh, the memories.
  5. I tried to like the guy in a post a few months back. Now I don't think I'll try. I'm saddened by this. It's like he kicked a puppy. I don't understand it.
  6. Who's "For Crying Out Loud"? I've never heard of them and couldn't find anything on U-Tube. Also I couldn't find any Killing Joke cover on that album.
  7. I was 17 or so and bought Jeff Beck Blow By Blow. Wish we had U-Tube back then.
  8. I've been following this girl for a few years. You guys are saying that soul and style comes out in time. This is the first video I saw of her: http://youtu.be/GVyzuEBFfBU Then recently I saw this one. http://youtu.be/d4QsW7MgMkc I'd say she has matured. I got some heat for posting a girl guitar player from one member (I don't remember who) on this board a while back. But I think both the one I posted before and this one are deserving of recognition.
  9. Has anyone else noticed the amount of dust on that thing? Look at the back photo.
  10. This one was a good deal. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-USA-Studio-w-OHSC-All-Orginal-1998-/251225405623?pt=Guitar&hash=item3a7e3378b7 It looks to me, and I'm usually wrong, but hasn't that bridge PU been changed. All the studio '59 bridge pups I've seen are double black. Custom order maybe? Also, tonepro is from '06 and newer (?) He doesn't mention what year it is and I can't tell from the picture if it is one.
  11. Thanks Mitch. I'll check out those links as well. Thorn is my real name BTW. I'm looking at PAs for the outdoor concert I'm putting on in a few months. Maybe the Nexos would sound better at lower volumes. I don't think Down Town Lakeland will let me crank to the levels Candlebox played.
  12. Yep, that's it. Thanks for the link. I suppose they may have their place in the scheme of things but not as the main sound system. The big boxes to the left with the square ports aren't in their brochure though. Maybe some sort of subwoofer.
  13. I doubt they'd know. It was probably something Downtown Clearwater rented. The stage is the same thing Lakeland uses for its outdoor events.
  14. Thanks Badger. I'll check it out. The other thing that I thought odd was the small square holes cut in the cabinets. Like ports. Also if you notice the upper cab is hanging precariously off the lower one.
  15. You must not have seen the video I posted with all the crowd surfing going on. Not sure if it was filmed in Florida though.
  16. I give in. I need a microwave. It was fun for a bit finding creative ways to reheat left overs but now I'm hungry and the left over grilled chicken is in a double boiler on the stove and has been for about 20 minutes. They nuke in about 45 seconds.
  17. Always a problem with a live audience. Let's be real, if I were to mosh pit it, I'd be out of work with injury for a few weeks or more. Agreed. But it's fun to watch. I haven't moshed since I was in my thirties. Although I did mosh at a deftones concert a few years ago hoping to get hurt or hurt someone. But I came out unscathed and only lasted one song. Their encore.
  18. No, we had a tough time getting out of town. We got there about a half hour into Candlebox.
  19. He's a great guitarist. I love his solos and on "You" he bends each note flat which raises the tension I feel in the song. I had a great time with Brandon last night. I haven't been to an outdoor concert with him in a long time. It's always fun going to downtown St. Pete or Clearwater. But, the question still remains. What the hell is that Fugly PA system?
  20. Free concert in down town Clearwater last night with fire works. Nice evening about 62 degrees and clear. Took Brandon. He had never heard of Candlebox. I showed him "You" live on utube. He liked it and wanted to go. Great show but they had an unusual PA. It was loud and small. It sounded good at certain distances and angles and not so good at others. We crashed the VIP section toward the end because they always do "You" as an encore. The singer's voice is high and sounded like shit that close to the PA. Here are some bad shots but maybe someone knows about the PA. And here's "You" in case you guys missed it 20 years ago http://youtu.be/vdRvzqSHrbE The band looked a bit board last night. There was no crowd surfing or mosh pits breaking out. Just a bunch of old fuckers. But it was fun anyway.
  21. Pretty radical artical. I wonder how much of it is true. Hopefully none but it does bear noting. Freezing food also changes the molecular structure of the cells. I think everyone would agree that eating food in their natural state is best but who likes raw brocoli? But for now I'm going to see how long we can go without a microwave.
