  1. Yea, so I guess that feeling is pretty much the same for most of us then.
  2. This cut happened to come on the Radio on my way to work today. And it got me thinking about this band. They may be the best "new" band of the last decade. I'm not even positive when they came out. But I somehow remember them becoming very popular around 2002-2003? The cut I remember with them is "How You Remind Me". Though this song I really like though.............. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1yQsrNiYSw "Saving Me" But I also find that after one or two ballads I loose interest in them? How about you guys? I can name a Half-Dozen ballads by them I think are very good. But yet I just loose interest in them too fast. I'm not understanding myself when it comes to them [Nickleback]. So I thought I'd......... SEE WHAT YOU THINK?
  3. I remember them, very well made. They did a Evo Supreme also that was a killer piece. Nice score Bro.
  4. Believe it or not many Fender players claim they are the best sounding Clean Fender amp "ever"?
  5. DRUMS is ALL you NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When NOTHING else wae there.............................DRUMS WERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I happened to be organizing a mess of yearly Guitar Player Mags and Vintage Guitar I;ve collected over the years. The Guitar Players date back to 1997, While I put the years together by mth, year etc. I thought I'd glance through the index's to see how Hamer advertised over the years. Here's how it went.............. 1997-0 1998-0 1999-All 12 months 2000-0 2001-0 2002-1-mth August 2003-0 2004-10mths out of 12 2005-6mths out of th year 2006-6mths again 2007-4mths out fo the year 2008-0 2009-0 2010-this far 0 Januarys been out, I haven't recieved Feb as of yet. Its possible I missed 1 or 2. But its basically correct. Gibson, Fender and PRS amoung others, advertised monthly for all years. For Seymour Duncans advertisment for 2010? He used a Gibson, Fender and a PRS to advertise his pick-ups? You think he would have dropped a Hamer in the mix?
  7. The Italia's get good ink, their was an article on them in the last GP mag. Fellow that reviewed it didn't have a bad thing to say about it. Here's a Eastwood "Mosrite" style 6 I just found. Don't know why they didn't use the Bigsby Roller on the Deluxe model instead of the Fender style. Looks like they used the better Trem on the cheaper style Mosrite
  8. I had an Eastwood resonator/semi-hollow for a bit. It was definatly different. Played well, worth the $$$. I love to come across a Mosrite. I was looking at them on Ebay yesteday. Does Eastwood do a six string in that design?
  9. Does PRS still use Mann-Made Trems? Terrible business eh? Certainly learn something new everyday. Trems are killer too. WTF? Callaham is relative priced no? Do the Gotoh's have a rubber sleeve or is the set-screw the only thing holding the tension on the Trem arm?
  10. Doesn't the dispute on Pay-Pal tie up his account for 30-days? Thats probly why he's looking to get the dispute dropped. There's more than likely other orders, and he can't access the funds on the account? Not positive though I heard something to this effect. I don't understand why he just didn't tell you what was going on, and save himself the aggrevation? Sounds like he didn't have them in stock or machined at the time. Regardless its a horrible way to do business.
  11. From a couple feet away there isn't much difference. MOF I think I have a photo of the two from a couple feet away. The older White style actually looks better from a distance. I don't dislike the larger style like on my T-62 either. Personal stuff I suppose.
  12. I happened to catch this one recently. Great Band. Man that LP-Custom sounds great. Looks like a 54?
  13. That Quilt Top is just KILLER. Very Nice! Did you order the Quilt-Top one-piece?
  14. +1 +1 I prefer the Hamers with the Vintage neck carves. I don't know that the quality is better than say the 90's. But I definatly like the neck carves now.
  15. Bad Marketing is all it is my Brothers. An ARTIST selling for $560. is just foolishness. Guitar Center here gives $800. on a trade in for them? They turn right around and put them up on the wall with the Vintage Electrics with a $1800. tag on them. And they get it! Not sure how much they haggle but I'm sure a bit anyway. How many used Hamers do you see at Music Shops? Not many! IN CT they sold for $800-$900 back in 01-02. I paid $900 for MINT Artist Custom back in 01. I went looking for a LP? And bought the AC. Couldn't even compare it to a LP-Standard. Quality was like day and night. These ARE gonna go up in price. Theres not a doubt in my mind about that.
  16. The Fenders and Gibbys sell for sure. But you need the Hamers to play?
  17. New guitars are Cool. But I don't prefer new to old. Actually I prefer aged to new. Especially in the case of a Newport. They just get better sounding as the wood continues to dry and age naturally.
  18. I agree, If you get a Hamer in the hands of a player? They are gonna come back to them. I always have as most of you have?
  19. Sonny Boy Williamson
  20. John Lee Hooker..... Junior Wells..... Muddy Waters Howlin Wolf Al Cooper Sade Bob Dylan
  21. I had a Chopper in a Mirage I use to own. Good sounding pup. BG Hellbucker? Thats the dude from the Sierra Nevadas that winds his own pups?
  22. LOL...There it is!
  23. So, uh, Hamer will now be making custom basketball shorts (for the right price, of course!) Sounds like a major shift in strategy! Seriously, the only thing we know for sure at this point is that Hamer has (for now) suspended production of "stock" instrument models, but will make custom orders if the customer agrees to the price Hamer quotes. It appears anything beyond that is just speculation, eh? Since I haven't heard any rumblings about government bailouts for the music industry, I suspect free-market forces will ultimately determine what Hamer produces and what pricing structure the market will accept...irrespective of what we, Hamer or Jol think. In the meantime, I'm just REAL glad I have the Hamers I do, and I hope the guys in CT are able to work something out so they can continue to practice their craft and build quality instruments that the market can accept and afford. AMEN
  24. I hear you Bro, but I believe you missed my point. When I made reference to Hind Sight being 20-20. I simply meant that there are guitars that would not have ever been built had all this been done over. Maybe I'm missing something here....... I also disagree to a point with Jol simply building what he likes[this has been mentioned a "few" times on this thread]. When you begin manufacturing anything. Its NOT to build what you like. Its to build what you believe in your heart through rational, educational thinking: what "OTHERS" will like and need. Though the design may be all your own. Such as the case of the Telecaster for example. If the point of any this was simply to build what YOU liked. Why would you need to go into business? You would simply build what you like and F--K the rest of the world. Many of us do this as I speak. If the meaning of this statement is that everyone acts in thier own self best interest first and foremost? I agree Totally. Just a little confusd over this... The worries of Hamer exists for many reasons, most personal. If yours is simply "will you be able to buy a Hamer in the future"? Most definatly. Why would you not? You could buy original 1978 on up Hamers in every single model for a decent price as we speak. I don't usually follow the 80's Super Strat designs with Boomers so I may be wrong on that. But I've seen evrything else in the past two weeks from 3-pick-up T-51s to late 70's Sunbursts, T-62s, S-Models, Koa Mirage Is, 12-strings. There been a LOT of rare Hamers around recently.
  25. +1 lol
