Wow, this the first time I've heard a dude complaining about booth bettys! Sorry you found them so offensive As far as, "most stores that fall for this trick usually fail miserably and go bankrupt due to the fact they over spent / didnt look at the market in thier area before buying", I'd like to see some statistics to back up that assertion. Where is the "trickery?" Bettys don't sell guitars to store buyers, the reps do. They're just there to bring people into the booth and generate interest in the brand. Pointing out evey "flaw" on USAs and labelling the import line "JUNK" is always a positive step "One last thing... That sounds like it kicks ass: 1. Clean Fender Twin 2. FDII-Pushed Fender OD 3. FDII w/boost-Sustainy, loud Fender. 4. Rat-Marshall crunch 5. Both-Fuzzageddon! Sounds like an ideal and simple setup for getting a lot of sounds.

I like to use the MXR EVH Phase90 on the "script" setting, set to a very slow sweep. It gives you a nice treble goose but is not too obnoxious. The "block" setting is a more modern, cutting phase and is more up-front. As a booster, been through 'em all: Distortion+, TS-9, FulldriveII, Zack Wylde OD, Fatboost, etc. I've been happy for a few years with the Xotic RCBooster. It really kicks a lead channel in the head and does NOT alter the guitar sound unless you use the bass/treble controls. I'd also like to check into a Keeley KatanaBoost or a Bad Bob Booster.

A great 2003 korina Jr. One Rio Bluesdawg, B/W/B pickguard, and TonePros adjustable wraparound later and it now has my stankawhnit...Just a badassed guitar.

OD/Booster: Xotic RCBooster-killer, transparent. Wah:Budda Budwha-nice 'gulp' and 'eeommp', true bypass. Ubervox... Chorus/Flanger: Foxrox TZF-gets the grind, nice chorus/leslie, too. Delay: Line6-very versatile, maybe TOO versatile. Lotsa fx. Phaser: MXR Phase90/EVHPhase90-oldskool swirl. EQ:N/A Misc (any other notable mention): Yamaha DGStomp-once you tweak it, VERY cool modeler. Records really well. Boss TU-2/EB Vol.

'97 korina Standard, purchased new @Haight-Ashbury Music (see my avatar). I think it was #14, or something, can't recall. It was a killer axe, but was a friggin' boat anchor. I traded it plus cash to a dealer for a new Standard Custom which had orangepeel problems. Traded the SC to an HFCer for a '95 SC which I still proudly own; a great guitar in every way. Lost my shirt on all the trades, but got a nice, usable instrument in return. Haven't bought a new Hamer since...ain't interested...
