RobB replied to Bennyboy-UK's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Woke up, went back to sleep. Sheeeit, I've had flatulence read higher on the Richter scale. Napa county didn't fare so well, though... -

I may have something FS around Xmas time, or when my Shishkov Ultimate is completed. Keep an eye on the FS section. -
Can't stomach NR but dig, dig, DIG Satsuma. Check out his live versions on "Light's Out" and "Rock Bottom."
-
Thanks for the teasers, Mike! The above pic suddenly made all of the brouhaha and speculation become very REAL.

I like this guys post from MLP: Spraying a good 'burst is hard, but it's really easy to do a bad one. "Fine line", indeed.

Sent my payment off, too. As Borat Sagdiyev exclaimed during his T.V news interview: "I AM VERY EXCITE!! HELLO, U. S. and A!!!!!"

Got my confirmation email, too. I feel so fortunate to be involved with the inaugural run of Ultimates. I totally lucked out on this one... Chambered Ultimate Tobacco burst Klusons Dots Bound top Woo-effin'-OOF!
-
Hot Damn! This is a most welcome announcement. Just filled out an order for a first run Ultimate!

"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and Garth Brooks, for starters. I would wager thousands were inspired by KISS to take up music. Highly specious, but I was certainly floored by Merciful Fate/KD. Hank Sherman is the man. Being from Denmark is something they had no control over, unfortunately.

The infamous pinch harmonics -any great moments?

Yessir. J5 is a mutant. Unbelievable versatile. Scary good, like Buckethead, but, y'know, listenable. -

Yeah, I get that. It appears that after Ozzy lost his original "Bizzard" band and "management" took over artistic direction, things went downhill, FAST. The whole, "Prince of Darkness", horseshit, et al, reduced one of metal's greats to a cartoon character. I'm REALLY looking forward to Bob Daisley's book. -

"Wayward Child", on Rory Gallagher's, "Stage Struck." Strat, Treble Booster, AC30, bitches. -
Yep. Brain fart. I meant Epiphone. As a union stagehand, I find it oddly ironic that a labor strike caused workers to join a company named, "Guild." Ya can't make this stuff up, I tells ya! guild /gild/ (also gild) noun a medieval association of craftsmen or merchants, often having considerable power. • an association of people for mutual aid or the pursuit of a common goal. • Ecology a group of species that have similar requirements and play a similar role within a community. ORIGIN late Old English: probably from Middle Low German and Middle Dutch gilde, of Germanic origin; related to yield.

A simple (and cheap) solution would be to use a '59 bridge. You'd have a balanced p/u set and the JB's nickel cover will fit. I like Duncan's '59 p/us. They are real "sleepers", and are great if you prefer a classic, non-distorto h/b sound. Also, consider a SD Alnico II or the Slash signature bridge. Sounds GREAT in mahogany guitars.
-
Seriously, though, what's the story on the build?Looks too nicely made to be a home project. Is it a Heritage cast-off?
-
Cool! If the project goes south, you can always use it to prep veggies for cooking.

What is you favorite practice amp.
RobB replied to Crimsontider's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I've got a rackmount PodPro with the 2-pedal controller tied to a Mackie Onyx 801i firewire mixer and JBL powered monitors. I've tweaked ALL of the presets to sounds that are more usable and less over-the-top. Sounds pretty good "for what it is." Even though it's digital, the front end takes pedals well. Currently, my favorite sound is a Golden Cello pedal into the "plexi" patch. Might be upgrading to an HD500X soon if I can get the "good guy" price. I've demoed the floorboard model and the models are MUCH improved compared to my obsolete PodPro. -

Screw "No Guitar Challenge" What Did You Get In 2013?
RobB replied to L2A3's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Actually sold more stuff than I bought last year, with two more guitars going on sale very soon. 2010 Navigator (ESP) N-EX-440 LTD Explorer. Nuts-on repro of a 70's Gibson, right down to the chunky neck and Kluson Saf-t-post tuners. Photos when it gets back from Brawer's... 1995 Eclipse 12ver. Got this for a great price. The first 3/4 frets were REALLY chewed up, so those are getting replaced and a PLEK-ing. Photos next week when it gets home. -
