  1. Wait no longer! The List is completed. But first, a few words: Thank you for all of your emails, your phone calls, and for your patience. Don't be discouraged if you don't see a certian guitar on The List that you were hoping to see for sale. That only means that I don't want to sell it, but if you offer me too much money for it, I will probably acquiesce. EMAIL ME with any questions, comments, etc. Not only do I not want to hog Ted's bandwidth, but I can not regularly check this site from my computer at work. They actually expect me to be working while I'm there. The bastards! I do, however, check my email regularly. This will also ensure that I know who asked me about a certain guitar first. Prices include shipping (in the CONUS) and PayPal is fine with me. I will also accept money orders, of course. Personal checks from my fellow HFCers are also acceptable. I will ship internationally, but we'll obviously have to see what that costs. So now, without further delay, The List!
  2. Patience, kids....patience. All good things...
  3. The Kizanski Winter Mega Sale is Imminent!! You do the math: 24 Guitars 1 Amp 1 Lap "Feeding the Greed," as my friend jjguitarranch puts it, has not made me a better guitar player. In fact it has confused and clouded my brain, and when the cases get stacked up so that you can't even pull one out to play it, you start to wonder what the whole point was in the first place. Too much time that should be spent playing is wasted horse trading and looking for the next deal. I'm sure a few of you can relate. I have my eye on something vintage, so although I'd normally love to hear about trades, I'm going to do my best to resist this time around. I'm getting The List together this weekend, so Stay tuned...
  4. That is incredible work. The guys at GMP knew how to do grafix! The HEMIBIRD. Don't like it? Suck it.
  5. Sounds like none other....well, maybe one other.
  6. That's ok - I was just messing with you. However, next time you will recieve a 10 yard penalty for "Excessive Formatting," as Nathan once ruled.
  7. Easy, mate....I did.
  8. The 1st "guitar album" that I ever heard was "Electric Ladyland," but it was Jeff Beck's "Wired" that made me want to play guitar. Immediatly following were the 1st three Queen albums. EVH was the Jimi of the '70's, and then there was a lot of dark times where everything was someone copying someone else (usually EVH). I have to say the first guy to blow me away since then was Johnny A. Completely amazing and original. Also, Greg Koch will tear your head off. Listen to "Spank It" and tell me I'm wrong.
  9. Hey, anything I can do to help out Woody.
  10. It is a 1997. I don't remember the neck well enough to remeber the profile. The truth is, the guitar slayed, but it was too new for me to feel comfortable playing ver often. I'm like that with the big pointy ones, otherwise I would have kept the Korina Vector that I traded to Badger Dave, and my Korina Standard would see more use as well. This is the color. Although, in direct sunlight, it can look like this. In flourescent light with a camera flash, it can look like this. It really is a marvelous piece of wood, and Woodie is a great one as well.
  11. No - Woodie added it. It came with the white 'guard which he is including. Edited to add:
  12. "...used to be mine,' as the song goes. That's a ONE PIECE Mahogany Standard, my friends. The Rios were MADE for that bighonkin' hunk of mahogany. A steal!
  13. Hey, everyone has a talent. You should see me jump to conclusions!
  14. "Hello, Employee Relocation? Yes, I'd like to know if there are any other locations that you could relocate me to that would be more suitable for my guitar playing hobby. Yes, and I will also need the names of surrounding schools for my three kids. Oh, and my wife is going to need a new job as well. Oh yea, and they're ALL going to need new friends. Can you line that all up for me? I really need to get out playing with a band again. I wanna get THE BAND back together!"
  15. So, he (an adult) should uproot his wife and three kids (and himself) for the prospective good of his hobby? Sounds reasonable. Nashville is a good suggestion, too. It's not like there are a lot of musicians there for him to compete with.
  16. Funny you should say that. After I received the HEMIBIRD, I started thinking about what I should do next. I came up with the Bandit V (available in black & gold, of course):
  17. Oh God. I'm so turned on right now.
  18. Balls like church bells, you're damn right! My idea for the HEMIBIRD came about on a plane ride (from the Robin factory in Houston, as it turns out) as Greg and I flipped through car magazines and listened to Ricky2 attempt to down the plane with his snoring. I have never had such a positive experience with a guitar order (and this is not anti-Hamer driven in any way, just me being completely honest) and Phil Amato and the rest of the GMP clan were very receptive to my ideas. In fact, as I worked out the details, the "Why's" and the "No's" that I expected to hear were instead very positive and even eager responses. They couldn't wait to spray a Firebird Hemi Orange and slap big HEMI graphic accross the front of it. It was a very rewarding experience to sit down at my PC with my favorite graphics program and end up with a design that would eventually grace one of my guitars; making it a truly custom and personalized piece. Obviously, I did not "design" the HEMI logo, but I had to alter and shape it so many times as well as actually turn the hockey stick stripe upside-down and point it in the opposite direction (compare it to the graphics on the Hemi cars and you'll see what I mean), that it was completely different, while still looking very familiar. Sure, I would have preferred a six-in-line headstock, but you can't have everything. When I actually received the guitar, I was shocked at how much the actually object looked like my "artist's" rendering. Had I Photoshop-ed the electronics properly, there would have been no difference in the digital version and the wooden one. The Muse laughed his ass of when he saw the guitar and told me how ridiculous he thought it was. I'm sure he meant it in a good way (yea sure - lol), but that was the whole point in the first place. And speaking of wood; I certainly got my money's worth. This is a heavy guitar. It's all mahogany and weighs about as much as a Pontiac Firebird, but it's two tons o'tone, let me tell you. The body is thick (nothing like the Gibson version) and the neck is monstrous. I would say that it's "Like a bat," but that wouldn't do it justice. It's more like a drive shaft. Add to that the jumbo frets, and it is the hugest neck I have ever seen or played on any guitar. Ever. Even the neck on the '54 Reissue Les Paul that I traded Badger Dave recently was not as large. The guitar is a monster, and not for the meek. I'm just glad I got it before they went under, as I think it was one of the very last guitars completed and shipped.
  19. My Wife said that my playing had a lot of promise. "Promise you won't play in front of me."
  20. Yea, no kidding.
  21. Piling on! Serial knows this one quite well...
