The "instrument that started it all"

Me, too. -
Here's one: My wife took the picture.....

Clyde Stubblefield was the drummer in the band my wife hired for my surprise 40th birthday party. Jammin' with him is something I'll never forget. There's no doubt he was a big part in JB's sound. I didn't 'get' James Brown 'til later in my musical journey, but when the light finally came on, I was crushed by, and sucked in to, what I'd missed for so long. Rip JB. You will always be The Godfather Of Soul.

47 and rockin' more now (not in a chair, either ) than ever - in a COUNTRY band! There's been a sort of resurgence of country music in these parts, and we just happened to be somewhat on the leading edge of it. Now, I'm NO fan of country music, but that seems to help when it comes to tearin' it up. I learn the progression and the hooks, but after that, it's a free-for-all baby! I'm doing to country music what VH did to 'You Really Got Me' and people are diggin' it. Damn hicks! We have a younger (32) metal-type drummer who gets to play with his dad (bass player - 56) and 2 fair guit players (the other guy is 50 and (if he had hair) you'd never know it). I'm having WAY more fun now than I ever had (as far as playing goes), and even in a genre I don't like, I've stayed pretty true to my roots. Turning it up to 11 and giving you a loud 'AMEN!!', brutha.

DavidE said it: Karma. You deserve the best. Congrats!!

I got everybody in the band one (half of one for the soundguy) last year for Christmas. They love 'em. I know we got pics somewhere.

My thoughts are with you.

It's easier (for me) to remember which ones DIDN'T come and go thru here. Easily my favorite spot for learning about, finding, buying, and/or selling gear on the net. Every Hamer I currently own - with the exception of my first - has direct ties to this board. Pretty cool.

Shipping guitar with no case?
hamerhead replied to Stokesdead's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I had a guy ship a Dano 12-string in the original cardboard box from California (I'm in Wizzconsin) with the box taped in 2 spots and the guitar tuned to pitch - and it didn't have a scratch. I'm still in awe over that one. -
Getting your wife's permission to buy a Hamer
hamerhead replied to salem's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I always show my wife a picture of some REAL expensive guitar (or other gear), tell her the price, then tell her the one I REALLY want can be had for 1/4 of that. It used to work better. I think she's catching on..... -
Happy Birthday, big guy! Have fun!

It's a tough loss. Our thoughts are with you.

I just picked up this up and it's WAY more than I need for the crappy country band I'm in. Randall Colossus Paul Stanley Signature head: 300W (yes, 300!), Excellent condition - no rips, no tears, minor (and I mean MINOR) scuffs. Discontinued model (who's paying Paul now?). Solid State. W/ power cord (not pictured). Easily the LOUDEST amp I've ever used. 'Holy Shit' loud, actually. These are going for $400 + shipping on the bay. I'll ship it to your door for a meager HFC-friendly bottomfeeder price of $350. (CONUS only and Paypal if you cover the fee) ...and Thank-you for shopping at Kmart
