  1. I've only had this a few months, don't get along with the neck profile. Thought about parting it out or buying another neck, would rather see it go to a happy HFC home. This one is extremely clean, like it's been under a bed for all these years. Comes with Hamer case. I've got about $650 into it, will pass it along for $650 plus shipping. Can e-mail additional pictures to interested parties.
  2. It's a thin line between funny and sick around here. I like that. :-)
  3. I've got one guitar with a Floyd - and it really wouldn't bother me to drop that to zero. But I would love to see USA Daytonas and T-51s come back.
  4. Costco must really know their stuff. The beloved Gibson "Fly V." Ha Ha!
  5. Belgian and I have swapped a pretty good pile of CDs. Good fun!
  6. I like the openness, but it does have its drawbacks. I agree, but communities have cops for a reason. Some people are determined to screw things up for everybody else, take advantage of people, etc. Always have and always will. That's why to me, the bottom line is that ultimately you have to decide when the board becomes something other than what you intended. You don't owe anybody any explanations - maybe the supporters to a small extent, but even then, no one forced us to donate. My vote would be for whatever makes you want to continue providing this resource/gathering place for Hamer freaks. There are a lot of cool people here and it shouldn't be a pain in the ass. If you own the domain and pay for the bandwidth, call it like you see it and screw the rest of us. Do what you think is right. Remember, you can alway delete the second post as well. Sooner or later, people will catch on. But if you're asking each of us what we would do - I would've killed the "Where's Alpep" thread without a second thought. I work as a broadcaster and think several statements in that thread are libelous.
  7. FWIW - I've owned two "real" LPs and a nice Heritage H-150CM, and think my '93 Special FM beats them hands down. It's a very rude (in a good way) guitar that really wants to rock. If I want smoother humbucker sounds, my Artist Custom gets the nod.
  8. Congratulations! That looks like an incredible guitar - I hope you really enjoy it!
  9. I'm good for 2.
  10. +1 on the Guitar Honey. I like it much better than anything else I've tried.
  11. I bought my Newport Pro (used) from the GC in Austin - only to find they'd given the case away, the guy thought it went with an Echotone. They gave me an SKB case that fits a Gibson ES -xxx, but does not fit a Newport. But I wanted the guitar - figured I'd take the free case and sell it later. Doofuses. They have one guy that refuses to believe a Hamer could possibly be as good or better than a Gibson. When I wear my HFC T-shirt he says to let him know when I'm ready to "move up." I told him not to BS me - "I've got KISS T-shirts older than you."
  12. Give 'em hell, Kurt. BTW - their opening bids are always WAAAAY too high.
  13. I LOVE HAMERITIS! When I bought my '97 Artist Custom, the discoloration convinced me the neck had been reset. It also convinced the Guitar Center sales guy, who promptly dropped the price $350. Since I had 30 days to return it, I took it to my favorite luthier who clued me in to what really happened. I told the GC guy, but he didn't care since it was the end of the month and he'd already gotten credit for the sale. That's how I got a killer Artist Custom for $650. So I love Hameritis. The experience also taught me how much wiggle room those guys really have on nice used gear, esp. when they really want to move the item.
