  1. Raspberries Go All the Way / I Wanna Be with You Tonight
  2. DLR-era VH and anybody willing to have a lotta mostly empty paper cups rain down on them, like Robert Fleischman, the Cats, Rail, and (then-unsigned) Autograph.
  3. +1 to those mentioned so far. I'd add: The Outlaws - Bring It Back Alive. "Freeborn Man" is one of my fave tracks off that one.
  4. You may be thinking of the TM60's 1/4" headphone output -- the direct out is XLR.
  5. Mick Ronson Mick Ralphs Mick Taylor Mick Mars Mick Jones, but not the other Mick Jones
  6. The weekend was a Marvelous 3 binge, thanks to Stike, Poe, Cmatthes, and the master of DWTM ceremonies, Elduave!
  7. To Hamer's credit, I believe they know that marketing-wise, they couldn't compete with the likes of Ibanez/Jackson/Charvel. Hamer is probably smart to stay away from that segment.
  8. HHB -- you have my sincere condolences. My Mom is in hospice care these days, and I hope you take this in the spirit it's intended when I say to you that my Mom envies your Mom! As much as I cherish every minute with her, even the difficult ones, it pains me to see her suffer so. Hang in there. Mitch
  9. Heresy but +1. The "Diary" record did sound better than "Blizzard", though. Yes, with Def Lep opening in support of High & Dry. When he played part of Eruption verbatim during his solo section, it was a bit of a letdown. I cried the day RR died, but I never felt he was in the same galaxy as EVH. YMMV.
  10. The RIAA numbers, for what they're worth... Top Artists Top Albums
  11. +1 for Ozone, which is now certifiably "dreamy". Although not a plug-in per se, I'm tempted to get Melodyne Cre8, which looks like a lot of fun.
  12. Christina Aguilera's track "The Voice Within" from "Stripped" -- great vocal with gobs of transparent compression. I think Christina has more than her fair share of issues, and she's a total fashion train wreck, but after my gal dragged me to a concert, it's clear Xtina can really sing, and without a guide track! What a concept! Not much jumps out at me from the rest of her catalog, but I do like that track.
  13. I have a somewhat butchered Centaura that arrived with one, and I like it better than the JB. Just enough more ooomph, or more oom-pa-pa if you're playing a polka. Go for it! A little known factoid about the Distortion is that it is optimized for the Centaura's offset dots. I'm also a champion Sumo wrestler, appearing at the Budokan next Tuesday. And here's the Grail of good news for all us Centauralots: there's a significant mojo boost when you fill the electronics cavity with sand! Sweet! Surf's up!
  14. Question: for those who voted "old way", have you tried the "View New Posts" link up near the top of the page near "My Controls"? You get a cross-board listing. Give it a whirl.
  15. Unfortunately, you're much more apt to see the "this isn't actually me" picture than anything else. That's one weird decision, but it ain't my sandbox.
  16. Sometimes taller people give shorter people a lot of grief (like on weekdays and weekends), but shorter people are the big winners when it comes to wearing a guitar, in that they can wear it high and low at the same time! We've all seen the rock star photos in which the guitar was just above knee level, yet the headstock was overhead! Easy upper fret access and rockin' good looks in one swell foop! Try that, Tom Scholz! For some reason, however, this Joey Alves fellow never quite figured this out... Dave Meniketti, on the other hand, was way cool.
