  1. Yes. Pitch change, tempo change without changing pitch. Useful practice tool.
  2. I'll see if I have an LJGS plug in...
  3. Used to have a good setup for recording - scrubbed it and sold it (mostly) all off about 10 or 12 years ago. Found out that I still had active licenses on the software, and you don't need a monster system to do this stuff anymore. My meager Mac Mini is enough... So... Quick take - got the drums, bass, and vocals from Moises. Everything else is guitars - two continuous takes for left and right (not first takes, but continuous - intent was to be what would this sound like live in the band). Solo was a separate take. A lot that I hate, but I will say - mixing with today's tools is a sh*t-ton easier than it used to be : ) I'll take any feedback on what can be better. Link to .mp3 - RebelYell.mp3 Link to .wav - RebelYell.wav Signal path is stoopid simple: Sennheiser 609 to an SSL 2 into Logic. Everything else is plugins.
  4. I'm disappointed no one's finishing the joke. So, well... here goes... gimme a better one. The bar is now low... So, a 93, an 81, and a 96 walk into a bar and order drinks. As they sit there, mulling over their day, the 93 hears a high-pitched voice say, "Those frets look great on you!” The 93 looks around, doesn’t see anything, and returns to his drink. A moment later, the voice returns, this time saying to the 81, “Nice sustain block!” The 81 looks around, but again sees nothing and returns to his drink. Finally, when they think the voice is gone, they hear, “Hey 96, love the wraptail!” 96 looks, but again, no one is there. Frustrated and finding no possible source of the voice, they call over the bartender. 81 says, “Hey barkeep! What’s that voice we keep hearing?” “Oh, those are the peanuts,” the bartender replies. “They’re complimentary.”
  5. I miss my old burn unit....
  6. This is where it gets fun, at least for me. I was today years old when I realized he's not saying "Ride on my son." He's saying "Write on my son." That completely changes the song. It's a conversation between him and his muse. Now every line to me makes sense. Somebody prove me wrong... : )
  7. Beautiful song. Has always been my favorite song on a *very* good album. But I never fully understood the lyrics. Kind of ambiguous, which is fine for art. It leaves it open and personal. If you do a Google search for the lyrics, you'll get something like this: On morning shadows you were ill-spent "It's time", you said, or is it time you went I tried so hard to leave you I tried to sleep The hours you keep Oh Lord I wish I could escape this iron veil Ride on my son Ride on my son Ride until you fail Something comes and something goes And something dies before it grows And I'm like a sea diver Who's lost in space Sweet savage grace. Oh Lord I wish I could escape this iron veil Ride on my son Ride on my son Ride until you fail
  8. Tried, but my lowball offer was rejected.... : )
  9. Paging Mr. Stikeleather. Mr. Stikeleather to the white courtesy phone....
  10. He looks about 6'10" there. Great clip!
  11. It was, in fact, our venerable friend, Mr. Bennyboy.
  12. There may be one in front of you, but I'll put you in the list. : )
  13. Killer!
  14. I wouldn't consider mine heavy at all. At my age. I would really notice it if it was. The one I have really hasn't bothered me at all. I also don't think it's overly bright. I have a full maple Vintage S and a full maple Californian, and neither of them I would consider necessarily bright. They cut through the mix, that's for sure. : ) I'm pulling the Gravelins out of the ventage S and restoring it back to original. I may sell it, not because I don't like it: quite the opposite. But I got Shishkov 0100 which scratches the same itch, so it may go. The Californian has been a regular staple at gigs for the past few years.
  15. I think the above was about a different pedal. Don't drink and type, kids... V2 adds an additional mode to allow the delay time to be used in real time like an analog pedal. There might be other differences a well, but all changes were software. I think you're fine with either, unless you *really* want that feature. You can check with having the seller cycle through the modes with the toggle switch and see if you get a red/green flashing mode...
  16. The V1 was reported to sound "better" or "warmer", at least if you're looking for that. But it is 24v AC instead of DC, which was a deal breaker for me at the time. Mine are all V2 (which I think has a smaller footprint) ^- I'm thinking of Memory Lane vs Jr. here - disregard and see below...
  17. Or in my case, to get a little less bad... : )
  18. Personal opinion: Talent is the ability to tolerate being bad for long enough to get good.
  19. I had a DD-20 that I used for a loooong time. Thought it was fine/great until I got the Diamond. No presets, but it does everything I need it to, tap tempo, dotted 8th, etc. The modulation gives it a more realistic "tape" feel. Overall sounds more transparent. Smaller footprint and similar price point (I buy them used) Every board I have has one on it.
  20. Diamond Memory Lane Jr. Thank me later.
