There's all sorts of cool going on here. Not to make this about me, 'cause it ain't, but I've liked every Dr. Z I've tried. I'm considering replacing the Egnaters, really happy with the sound, but MIC, so reliability is a bit "edgy". I've done a few repairs already. Might be good to either get a serious Egnater, or move over to the doc. What would you recommend for dual channel classic rock amp. One channel set cleanish on the edge of breakup that I push harder with pedals and the other channel "Dire Straights"/ Pretenders clean. Solo boost highly preferred (don't like sending multiple cables in the FX loop... I know, I know...) Don't wanna do a highjack. Can start a new thread...

The 4x12s never leave the house anymore. I can't remember the last time I even took a 2x12 out. (and I have a few good ones : ) The egnater stuff is really light. That was a factor when I bought the first one. Pedalboard is larger than I'd like, but it does sound good. 3, sometimes 2 guitars, though. I like getting them out of the house when I can. : )

Okay, so things just got interesting... Number one - I did not keep the pickup set the guitar came with. Scratching my head, trying to figure out how i let that happen. Then, I realized/remembered, the pickups that were in it when I got it were not the original pickups. Yup, that's why I moved them on. Now I'm tracking down period corrects to put back in. : / 2 of the 3 will be here Monday. Still looking for the third. The bigger change is that the only thing I never liked about the guitar was the uber-thin neck. It's under 0.8 inch end to end. So I went ahead and ordered a Musikraft neck with a full Les Paul type carve - 0.87 at the first fret and 0.97 at the 12th. It'll take a good 4 to six weeks before it gets in. I'm looking forward to what the guitar sounds and feels like with it. Anyone have any insight on how to make a decal for the logo? ( @kizanski ?) I have an idea as an homage.

The Dunlop "Miracle Cleaning Cloth" seems to be the closest thing. Even smells the same. : )

Have used Gorgomyte for years. Pretty sparingly, one pack has lasted me quite a number of years. Getting down to my last couple of 2 inch squares, so I was going to order another pack. I'm guessing they're out of business because I can't really find them anywhere. Stew Mac has a "Miracle Cleaning Cloth." Has anyone tried that? Is it the same or similar? What else are you using for your fretboards?

Well, the waiting is the hardest part right? Got the replacement tip for the Weller. Unfortunately, it didn't fit well in my old Weller station. The pencil was worn enough that I didn't take new tips kindly. So I had to order a new pencil. That took a while. Got everything in this week, replaced the JFET, but still no output. : / Back to troubleshooting. Looks like the bias point on the replacement JFET was too far off to work in this circuit. Everything else looked correct, so I replaced the JFET one more time (glad I bought 10 of these little dogs...) Next thing you know, Bob's your uncle. This thing's working now. I'll reassemble the Vintage S hopefully tomorrow. It's good to get this board back to it's original state!

First pass of taking a *really* bad live mix off of the board, splitting the instruments into stems using AI, and remixing in Logic. Took about 8 to 10 hours, but most of that was learning curve and figuring out what doesn't work. : ) Nothing is "fixed", so the performance just is what it is. I'm not cool or good enough to have any direct jamming experience with anyone of interest, aside from a number of the very cool jams with people on this board... That said, I have been "jam adjacent." I auditioned with a band whose singer was John Cougar Melloncamp's cousin. I did get the call back, but I turned it down. (too far of a drive for my unreliable car at the time) I played with a keyboard player who is John Patrucci's nephew. I did ask - sadly, he didn't think I was as good as John... Shocker. : ) As far as actually rubbing elbows, I've had sushi with Ty Tabor, played pinball with George Lynch, and when I was a busboy, served breakfast to BB King. None of this counts, but it's therapeutic to type out. : )

Yeah, there's a lot packed in. But, I'd rather have the independent knobs than some goofy interface with push buttons and screens to cycle through. Each knob and switch does exactly 1 thing. That, and "Convolutedifier" doesn't roll off the tongue as well. : )
