donner Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 For your consideration: Two generations of the glorious Sunburst are for sale in German Kleinanzeigen. Both showed up this Sunday evening (Aug. 18th); no affiliation. but I could assist, if necessary. Prices seem acceptable and reflect the appropriate respect for those beauties. https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/fruehe-1978-hamer-sunburst-flametop/2840235735-74-7245 https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/hamer-usa-sunburst-gitarre/2840309763-74-2052 Enjoy!
Hamer Dave Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Hey donner! Can you help me with the ‘78? I have 8 0362, and likely same batch. Very interested. I’m in Addison, Illinois 60101. In the United States. Thank You. Dave
1 bottlerocket Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 That '78 is a beauty. I wish I had the cash.

Disturber Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 That is a stellar price for that 1978 Sunburst. Even though it has a mini switch.
donner Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 n' then THAT: 80358 and 80360, visiting each other for the first time after 46 years
donner Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 For a quick and short stop-over, 80360 has landed at my place. Took it outta its box, took pics, measurements, noodled a bit and then let them two reunited 46-year-olds sit down & chat, after a long while, again. 80358 (mine) and 80360 (visitor) had a blast for sure! Then, safely and properly reboxed, time to say Goodbye, being repatriated to her new owner over the pond in Chicagoland. Other sister 80362 already waiting there for her. Might be heard and seen at the 50th anniversary-gathering. Good luck, & have fun, lil' sister!
donner Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 Update: ROLLIN'! It took a while to get Customs cleared and all paperwork done, but now 80362 will soon be reunited with her sister from long time ago! Just right in time for the big 50s-gathering, I hope? Bon voyage, 80360! May you be played loud.
cornjulio Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Best of luck for the journey. I've used DHL before for a similar journey and it worked just fine. Any guesses how long it might take? 10 days?
ChugD Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Beautiful guitars! @donner You are a splendid guy for facilitating. 🤘

US customs are serious examiners, too 😉 2 hours ago, ChugD said: Beautiful guitars! @donner You are a splendid guy for facilitating. 🤘 As the ancient HFC saying goes: We are enablers. Have learnt a lot today at German customs. Were friendly people there, too. Normally, they've to deal with cranky Serbian, Bulgarian or Russian truckers, who do not speak any word German nor English, who have truckloads of dead pigs, aluminum profiles or tons of bricks to declare. A polite and patient guitar-nerd with his beautiful electric guitar is the highlight of the month for them. Such were the necessary paperworks as of today:

I hope, the new owner will chime in with his own pics, once 80360 has arrived. I am curious as well (and hell!) to see pics that compare 80358, 80360 and 80362. A very special bunch of 78 Sunbursts!
Hamer Dave Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Donner is the greatest!!! Arrived just a few hours ago… Safely! Back home, her sister will be arriving soon for a photo together. Stay tuned…
donner Posted September 20, 2024 Author Posted September 20, 2024 Ha: I know you, rider! Very glad it worked out so fine! It's a strain on the brain to know such a guitar being shipped such a long way. Great it's „home“ again – just a few miles from where it was made in 1978. Sweet home Chicago! Dare I hope to to see and hear it in the 50th-anni-stream in October?
Hamer Dave Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Possibly at the anniversary. I do see they are already having a handful of guitars available. Option Anxiety!!!

Hamer Dave Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 The sisters together… 8 0360 to the left. All photos. 8 0362 to the right. All photos.
