Considering that there were only two or three made, I'd be surprised. You can contact your favorite dealer here to order one though!

Here's mine below - Hamer far exceeded my expectations on this one. I'd wanted one like this since I saw pics of Pete Farndon of the Pretenders with his B4-S. Thanks to Hamer/Elduave!

Just out of curiousity, as these are the coolest

basses ever made. About how much would

one cost new?

Those ranges are right. Mine was much closer to the bottom of the range than the top though!

Gratituitous back shot - as nice as the front!

A Pete Farndon pic (his was pink, actually):

That would be a cool looking bass in trans black, eh?

Kip:

I haven't taken it down that low, but if you place an order, your dealer will discuss options like that with Hamer. They are amazingly creative and would be the best to answer questions like that. I've taken it down to a "D" before, and it wasn't as floppy as I'd expected. A little bridge tweaking would have gotten it a lot cleaner, but since I wasn't keeping it there for any stretch of time, I didn't mess with it too much.

My B-4 is typically tuned down 1/2 step, but I've changed it to 440 between sets and it locked right in.

Chris:

Thats cool, I play in Drop d flat, so you answered my question. So that top E (now D) plays good....??????? Looks like I need to place an order....is 3 months or sooner possible for a build time??????

Chris, by the way do you know the name of the Hamer bass that was similar to the Gibson Thunderbird, thanks Kip

It was a FBIV. Look on the top of the page and there's a link that says

"The Guitars" It gives a description of all the models.

Kip: Lemme know if you have any more luck than me in getting an FBIV made... I haven't checked into that for a couple of years now.

Curious as to why you wouldn't go with BEAD tuning on a 4-string...or simply a 5-string?

(i'm not a drop tuning expert...so not sure if you're de-tuning 1 string or the bass over-all)

I recently re-strung my FBIV to BEAD and haven't put it down since. My Ibanez 5-string sits in it's case.
