phoenix Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Congrats Peed. ...when I gave it the once-over! Wish it had been me!
elduave Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 Thanks for the review John. I really appreciate the kind words. Now, can I interest you in something simple, say, a Monaco Elite Mahognay?
peedenmark7 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 simple ? uuuugh.... if it was only that easy....wait ,the spalt was simple , wasnt it ? it took me a while to warm up to the monacos... but ,as you know/quoted... if I had my way.... it'd be an ultimate topped mon/newport with a bigsby...thumbnail inlays and filtertrons... those darn thumbnails were the stumbling block !!!! not the end all, I have to break the spalt in anyway,,,.... we should also have our hands full shortly with the next standard.... plus ....you got me roped good into that oh-so interesting project of yours...he he he I guess I am gonna have to work a little harder for a while.......... "middle aged honky will work for custom hamer guitars"
formula73 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Congratulations man! That guitar is absolutely gorgeous. I may have messed my pants...
BTMN Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 KORINA TOOO!!!!!!!! That is over the top. Funny, Jol said the same about Black Korina that he did about Spalted wood IIRC. Life IS Good!
gregc Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 You recall correctly. I also remember Jol goofing on guys paying extra $ for spalted and black limba, both of which he concidered, to put it politely, less than premium tonewoods. However, I do really like the 'L@@K'.gregc
bamboohead Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Well done The first spalted I saw was in Las Vegas at that one guys guitar shop, aaahhh Ernie Romaine? Well whatever, spalted wood is awesome!
