crunchee Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 Anybody remember the magazine ads when Parker came out with their guitar in the '90s? They made a direct comparison with their product with the reaction to the Strat coming out in 1954. The Strat's still around, dunno about Parker, though. Funny how Jol didn't mention Parker, either. 1 Quote

I rather like the Parker guitar, though I've never had my mitts on one. Given the shreddertastic neck dimensions, it probably wouldn't work for me, but I appreciate the aesthetic. 1 Quote
django49 Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 A Parker Fly was my go to guitar for a while. The piezo and coil splits allowed me ability to "find a place in the mix" whomever I was playing with. (Typical comment from bandmates...."How do you get such a crisp and clean sound? I sure cannot"....."Well, Keone, you are playing a Les Paul into a Marshall. What sort of clean tone are you expecting?") I have pretty much moved on with a few other things that do the same things, just better. (Yes, Shishkov #88). But I did hang on to my later Mojo Fly.....A couple significant improvements.....Duncan pickups, mahogany body and neck, fatter neck. Def an improvement over the original, IMO. That upper horn helps with balance but can dig into your body if you play seated.....An acquired taste! 2 Quote
