New Robin Guitars as good as the old ones?

I see that Robin is producing guitars again. Does anyone here have any experience or opinions of these “new” Robins compared to the old ones.  Preferably based on hands on experience. I am interested in a CO Ranger but I need some warm fuzzies before I lay down that k8nd of moolah on a custom guitar.

If in doubt, buy an old US made Robin.  If you can find one.

I wonder if they are going to reissue their early, Tokai-built Strats with the backwards headstocks? Probably unlikely, but I would sell my SGB2000 in a heartbeat if the new Artisans are up to snuff.

Okay, so I'm an asshole.  I requested a quote from Robin Guitars for the same guitar I have.  It's a Koa Exotic top Ranger.  I think mine is the best one I've ever seen.  They want $3,800.  I'll sell this one for $4,000.  It's built by Dave.  Sourced through Greg Platzer.  Excellent to near mint.  No waiting.

While that Ranger is indeed gorgeous…if I order a custom guitar anywhere I want a figured maple board and a vibrato bar. 
But damn. A koa Ranger looks badass!
