burningyen Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 Interesting, although it looks like someone fooled around in the control cavity: https://www.ebay.com/itm/177534835629 6 Quote
velorush Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 Saw that on Reverb, as well: 1982 Hamer USA Sunburst Special Double Cut Flame Top Custom Order w/ Lollar P-90s, Case | Reverb Lots of added shielding in the control cavity. Lots of surplus pickup leads, too, from the Lollar P-90s (originals are said to be included). Other than the existence of an original P-90 Sunburst from 1982, I was most surprised by the Paulesque weight: 9 lbs. 5 oz.(!) Still, it's pristine including the case. Pristine price, too. 2 Quote
HamStd Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 I use to own this guitar. It was custom ordered by a Bay Area metal guitarist in the band Tsunsmi. It also has a much thicker body - almost 1” thicker than a stock sunburst. Notice the strap button is on the back not the cutaway horn. It had vintage Gibson P90’s from the 50’s and a truss rod cover that said “Tsunsmi” which both appear to be missing. I could be mistaken but the one I had had the same knobs which two of them had “Porsche” logo stickers on. An added Jol touch on the guitar. it is a good guitar but definitely not your average everyday sunburst. Sounded great with the original P90’s not sure how it would be with the lollars Peter 11 Quote

I got this one from GC a year or so ago. I was very excited but as mentioned above the body is extra-thick so the guitar is extra-heavy compared to what I used to. I don't think I weighed it, but I knew as soon as I picked up the case that I would probably return it. Can't remember what the GC price was. I think it had the Tsunami truss rod cover that Peter mentioned and Duncan pickups and Porsche-sticker knobs at the time but can't remember to be sure. 2 Quote

I did notice the different placement of the strap button, but failed to see the more obvious thickness. That's quite a slab of 'hog! 1 Quote
Disturber Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 Cool. Looks like it might be all re-wired? Pots says Hamer, but I don't recognise that type of Switch? Is this the band Tsunami? @HamStd 2 Quote
