MCChris Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 It should not be an issue. In general it's not, with regard to the fact that unlike other gear-related sites that do have bylaws about stuff like this and require people to have a certain amount of posts before they can advertise something for sale (so there's actually some contribution to the community before the profiteering begins) the HFC does not.
kurtsstuff Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Yeah...who gives a shit whether or not the store owner can feed his family or pay his help a decent wage huh?.....Just get your gear as cheap as absolutley possible and when you've drained whatever local mom and pop store and run them into the ground and out of business...just move on to the next and do the same thing.....hell!! what do you care!!! I'm sorry to disagree with you Kurt here. This story is getting really old. It is important to support the local mom and pops but only to a certain degree. I would definitely buy from Rocketeria or BCR before buying from Guitar Centre. I am not willing to pay a premium (full retail) so that the local mom and pop can stay in business. Most business that I do is with companies that are fair and service is #1. At the end of the day, I want to know that I paid a fair price and that the seller also received a fair price. It has to be a win-win situation. I so agree that the story is getting old and actually feel as though I should appologize for my rant....and I do...so.....I got some really cool "Dean" guitars at well below retail and what a savings!!!!! lol!!
serial Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Now ifn' you had some old original Deans, then we'd be talking! From all reports, the new stuff is smokin, but I've always wanted one of the original MLs, Vs or Zs from the late 70s/early 80s. Call it midlife crisis or something...

sirDaniel Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 oh YEAH< I traded a LP recording for a washburn. :op
Guest galejt Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I could do without the "well below retail price." BS, but otherwise I don't have a problem with it (even though I think that means that I am reversing my original stance on this issue).... ...
Oz925 Posted May 11, 2006 Author Posted May 11, 2006 First off I would just like to say I am sorry for the spam post, but I was just helping out trying to get the word out for a friend, and I figured the Hamer forum would probably be the best place to do that. I think you misunderstood me when I said that they were well below retail price. I didn't mean MSRP, I meant the regular street price for such Hamer guitars. Hopefully this clarifies my actions.

And it does. Thank you.As I said before, the HFC has no rules about how many posts you must have in order to advertise something for sale. However, we encourage you to stick around and contribute. You don't even have to be a Hamer owner, just someone interested in music.Hope you'll stick around. And tell your friend to stop by also.

Beergoblin Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Spam is spam, but for whatever its worth they do have a very nice Monaco on their site for a reasonable price.
