WTB: Small Tube Amp.

I'm looking for a small tube head or combo (single 12 or 2-10s). I'd prefer a small 30W-60W Fender combo, but will consider anything Fender-ish (looking more for warm and clean than high gain).

Whatcha got stashed?

The chap I sold my Duncan 84-40 (el84 ~ 40watt) 2-10 combo was asking me if I wanted to buy it back. Very clean....Fenderish/Voxish. I'll see him Friday and ask if he's willing to ship.

How about a Musicman RD65 112 made in 1980? Hard to get closer to Fenderish without buying a Fender.

Those blues jrs are cool!

There's still a bunch of good deals on vintage stuff out there, I recently saw a '62 Tremolux head at a shop online for about $800 (non-original trans.), but geez, the good tube trem circuit and tube rect, -sound like a great deal. My friend recently got a very similar head and cab, it's fantastic.

A place near me has a blackface Bassman head for $375 with the wrong grillcloth, - I should buy that to sit next to my '68 ;) ...

A couple of late 60's blackface Bandmaster heads recently moved on craigslist for mid $400s too.

I was just running my late 70's champ through a 4 ohm 2x12 marshall cab, it's a whole lot louder than you would expect, -sounds really great too (with my Hamer Studio Custom loaded with Rios). Those amps are readily available for around $300. Be a little patient and low $200's are around too.

Early '80s Concerts are no more than $500, I doubt I could get more than $400 for my head. Those are nice and fendery.

Wow, haven't heard anyone else mention the Duncan 84-40. My first tube amp was a 1x12 version Damn great amp. Loud as hell though...

There's a used Peavey Classic 30 on chrisguitars that might fit the bill for you. I owned a Classic 50 years ago and it was a good "Fender-ish" amp for a decent price...the Classic 30 most likely is too.

i just sold a Carvin Nomad pretty cheap which would have fit the bill...

but i would recommend a Fender Blues Deluxe....one of my fave amps....their clean is a bit nicer than the Hot Rod version....i checked out a reissue the other day and it sounded great....a mint one just sold on ebay for $400....i was very tempted to buy it even though i have an original...
