cordroad Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 ESP custom tele made as part of a special order of 10 in the early 80's for a music shop in New York. Bought it from BCR Greg a few months ago. Formerly owned by Nitebob. (hi Nitebob)Body has a mild flame, with a bound top. Equipped with 1 HB at the bridge, although the body is factory routed for second pick up. Single volume control. Neck is flamey maple 50's style Tele; what I would call a modified v.Tuners are aged boxes with the word deluxe down the center. Klusons? Probably Gotohs? Has part of a Fender decal on the headstock that appears to read nocaster or broadcaster. I had a new nut cut, volume pot replaced with a CTS, Switchcraft jack installed, and wiring cleaned up, fresh solder as needed. The trem bridge was not installed correctly and didn't line the strings up evenly spaced on the fretboard so I had it remounted. My local luthier took it apart when I bought it and confirmed that the neck and pocket does have ESP markings. He also did the work mentioned.Didn't come with a case but I've got a chipboard case that will protect it inside a shipper box.I dig it, but I'm developing serious gas for a Robin, which means I have to free up some cash. (Greg, you bastage)I've got over $600 in it. I'll ship to the lower 48 for $625.00. Much prefer USPS money order but I'll work with ya if ya have to use Paypal.AddedForgot to mention is has a strat trem bridge and the bar is included, although I doubt it is original
PastorPaul Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 That is a sweet guitar. Having had several ESP Ron Wood Tele's and a couple of their Vintage Plus T models, I can testify that this is probably a great instrument.Tim is also a good guy with whom to do business!
hamersandstrats Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 It is also pretty rare in that it has the fender shaped headstock. Very cool looking instrument. Is the other pup route a single coil or humbucker?
BCR Greg Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Bucker route, but only one hole for the volume pot. A bad ass guitar.

Thanks for the kind words, Pastor Paul. Back at ya!I'll get some pics of the pickup route, back cavity, headstock closeup and neck pocket markings. If I can't get them up here I'll post links to photobucket.
Nitebob Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Hello,I had that guitar since 1982. Ash body with a maple top. It is a very cool sounding guitar. The headstock is Telelike, not exact. Why did I sell it after all those years? Same reason I sold my 1979 Hamer Sunburst this year. It was time for somebody else to enjoy it.nitebob
cordroad Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Hey Nitebob, nice to hear from ya. Thanks for the additional info. Ya'll come back now, ya hear?
Jeff R Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 That guitar would be badass with a neck p'up and a push-pull volume knob to switch pickups like an ESP Kamikaze. Very nice guit.
FrankieII Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Do you know if the pickguard is original, or was it added?
cordroad Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Can't answer your question as to whether or not the pickguard on it is original. Perhaps Nitebob can help with that one.I would think the guitar was built with one, in order to cover the second bucker route. Paging Nitebob.
BCR Greg Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Original. Otherwise the neck pup route would hang it's ass in your face.
cordroad Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Thanks, potty mouth. Pics of pickup and neck pocket markings here: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e344/cor...ebobpickup2.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e344/cor...tebobpocket.jpg Looks like pickup is SD JB B?
Nitebob Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Hello,The blue ESP was put together in ESP's old headquaters. All custom ESPs were put together there. It always had a pickguard. Somebody buy it and give it a good home.nitebob
