gatorbyte007 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 What no Leds??????? LOL< Great guitars, I have'nt played a set neck cali, I did'nt like. I remember only one in the last couple of years, for sale .it was a white one.
jettster Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Wow, that's sweet! If you ever want to sell it for a ridiculously high price, you know who to call (that would be me ).-Austin And I would be willing to go at least a $100 higher than Austin. Just kidding...... Unless you have a flame top set neck Cali stashed somewhere. Cool guitar!!!
zorrow Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Californian Custom in Black Cherry Metalflake. Definitely more than $700. I don't know that I'd say it was a $1300-1500 guitar, but depending on what day you were to hit the market, it could be if you had the right motivated seller. The set neck ones don't show up all that much. I had one and loved it. Yeah, you're right! After what we have seen on eBay with the green Californian with a bolt-on neck, this one could be close to 2K – though I'd stop at the same price than you.
kizanski Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I think that looks cool as hell, and they've never been my cup of tea.
aktano Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks for the compliments guys I don't understand why Hamer no longer make this or something similar with a setneck? I guess cost of building it and the profit margin just does not make sense? -ak
Jason01 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 That guitar is a set neck because if you were to strip off the paint and have a look at the neck joint the neck and body are two pieces glued together and blended smooth. A true neck thru would not have a joint, its one piece of wood from the tip of the neck to the end of the body(usually with "wings" making up the sides of the body). Thats a really nice cali and one thats highly coveted around here.
atquinn Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I don't understand why Hamer no longer make this or something similar with a setneck? Actually, they do (as a custom order): I'm sure they'd make one with a Floyd if asked nicely, but I think the set-neck Cali looks a little more shredalicious myself. -Austin
aktano Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 you guys are right. I browsed through the Hamer website and it looks like they do have some setnecks.
cmatthes Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Actually, they haven't made any bolt-ons since @ '97.EVERYTHING is a set neck now!
rmahurin Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 If Hamer would do a set-neck Cali as a custom order, that is pretty close to the one I would have built.
