95 Daytona For Sale

I just bought this in June, but since I bought a Special, it has to go.

It's a blue 95, original Duncan APS's neck and middle and a Hot Rails in the bridge. Four, count 'em FOUR, trem arms made by one of our very own here on the HFC. Two regular length and two shorter ones for your palm. Wilkenson saddle adjustment tool (Find one of those). Spare trem cover. OHSC.

Bridge in OK shape with little corrosion. Frets in great shape. A few pinhole sized dents in top and back clearcoat, with three dents in top about the size of a eraser. A little worming in the tummycut. None are very deep in the clearcoat and none would photograph. Weight is about 9.5lbs on my Health-o-Meter scale. Not the lightest Daytona ever, but lighter than most, and definitely lighter than my last one by about 3lbs.

$600 shipped with Paypal. Subtract $25 for US Postal Money Order. I'll take a check from you if you've been around long enough to know the meaning of "Half a Twenty"

Thanks

The worming is right along the bottom edge of the tummy cut.

The three dimples are right there!

Bob, You forgot to mention the Dimarzio Fast Track 2 in the bridge position. I have basically the same exact guitar - wood, finish, pickups, color etc. and I first tried the SD Hot Rails and was about ready to route it out for that real humbucker rock/metal tone but that same PU came to the rescue. It's all that and has a great sound w/ the vol knob turned down too - cleans up well. It replaced 2 other USA F*nd*r Strats easily. Great sustain - it just rings acoustically.

Morningstar said it was a Hot Rails that he had put in, but you're right, it does look more like a Dimarzio than a SD. I've never pulled it to confirm, but what I do know is: that baby likes to rock and baby likes to roll. It'll easily hang with any humbucker but still retains a little of that single coil "zing".

Hmmm, maybe it's a FT 1 instead of 2 because my FT2 just mainly rocks - not so much single zing as you put it. Anyway, it's good stuff either way.

The new hot rails pickups have changed. The rails are no longer split like they used to be.

Shoulda mentioned the neck profile.

(From a PM I sent to someone with a '95 Studio)

*I suck at neck descriptions sorry, but I had a '97 Studio so I should be able to get close.*

It's got about the same depth as the Studio, but wider, and fuller in the "shoulders". I would've described my Studio as a "thinner" medium, but this is a fuller medium. Definitely feels larger in the hand than a Studio.

ZR,

It ain't got that much zing! :)

You had an 11 1/2 pound Daytona?????? That's just crazy!

It was about 12lb. Made me sick at my stomach it pulled on my shoulder so much. The proverbial "Brick-O-Caster".
